Get Cooking!
Funded Dec 26, 2022I cannot fully express my gratitude for your generous donations! The new cookware sets that you helped purchase for my classroom have made such a difference. With these new sets my classes have had the ability to make a multitude of recipes without struggling to find the tools that they needed to complete them. They have developed skills that can be used for the rest of their lives. Students have made everything from No Bake Cookies to Chicken Parmesan. Skills have been developed that they will use for the rest of their lives. The impact of the new equipment not only helps these students but students for years to come. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you all!”

Funded May 3, 2022The Sensory Room at Mansfield Middle School is giving students a place to relax, decompress, gather thoughts and meditate . According the the Middle School Counselor the room is a great place for her to take some of the students to calm them and let them relax and compose themselves. Using this room has helped students and will be used to help many more this school year.
Students that have used it have loved the atmosphere of the room. It is quiet and relaxing. Students love the fidget toys and bean bags. The lights are calming for many of them.
Because stress has increased significantly over the past 3 years this room is providing a safe place for students who need it. It is currently being by the school counselor, school mental counselors and the staff. Future plans are to implement teachers using it with their classes.
The EAST students who designed this project gained skills and knowledge by researching, designing and implementing it. They will use these skills post high school and for years to come.
I would love to personal thank each of you for supporting my students and helping them to make our school a better place.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Smith

Funded Apr 1, 2021This project is giving the students of Mansfield High School EAST Classroom invaluable experience in giving back to their community. Through hard work and perseverance, the students have designed and built a book box to place in the town square for children to pick out their own books to keep. The box is built and ready to install. Due to Covid and weather conditions the installation of the box has been delayed. At present, we need to get the holes dug and install the box. This should take place within the next 2 weeks. We have attached pictures of the completed book box with the books you provided displayed in the box, along with the area on the town square it will be installed. We also have a photoshopped model of the box after it is installed. We plan on giving all the books away to children in our community and then taking donations of new/gently worn books to replenish once the initial supply is depleted.
Studies have shown that children who own their own books do better academically in school. A child who is surrounded by books has a better vocabulary, increased awareness and comprehension. We are so excited that you have given our classroom the opportunity to provide books to the children in our community.
The funding you provided for these books will allow them to own their books giving them a head start leading to a lifetime of learning. This project is an awesome opportunity for these high school students to obtain life long skills through service while enriching and giving to the community they live in. We thank you with sincere gratitude!”
