Tree Rug Gathering Place
Funded Aug 16, 2023Thank you so much for the new classroom rug! We love having a welcoming gathering with a spot for everyone.
We use our tree rug for a cozy place to listen to stories. Everyone has personal space while we come together. We can come together for morning meetings and our social emotional learning time.
Our class also loves a soft place to work on centers. They can work comfortably together on the floor and have the space to spread out from other groups. It is so much better than the cold, hard floor!
Thank you again for helping make our classroom a warm and inviting space to learn and grow!”

Funded Aug 29, 2022Thank you for your generosity! We are loving our new chairs and lap desks! Having the choice of where to sit has made choosing a seat fun! Everyone wants to have turn in the new seats. The students who have had the chance to use them already love them! They say it is so much more comfortable than a regular desk and chair. They focus better and spend less time moving around the room.
We also are enjoying the new wobble stool! Students love using it instead of a regular chair. It gets out those extra wiggles while still allowing them to work.
We are so grateful for the new additions to the classroom!”

Funded May 9, 2022Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom! My students are enjoying all the new, diverse books in our listening center. We love having sets of books so everyone can hold their own book and follow along easily. The books are new titles we haven't heard before which is exciting! The new headphones are so helpful! Now students can hear the story without disturbing the rest of the class. Our old ones were broken, so these were much needed!
We have also loved doing the the diversity and inclusion prompts. It has allowed us to have great conversations about our similarities and differences. We've learned so much about our friends in our class!
Thank you again for supporting our learning!”

Funded Sep 15, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation! Our class loves to read and now we have a better way to enjoy our books. It is so nice to gather around to listen to a great book. Getting out of our seats also gives us a break from sitting in our desks all day.
We use our new carpet squares for a few different things. The main one is to gather around and enjoy books being read aloud! This is one of our favorite times of the day. This arrangement makes it nice for discussions during our story too.
Another time we use the carpet squares is during center time. A small group can grab a carpet and play a game on the floor! So fun! We can also read a book together and talk about it. Now centers can be anywhere around the room.
My students also use the carpet squares for individual reading time. We like to have some quiet reading time and it has been nice to be able to relax on the floor while enjoying a story!
We will get years of use from our carpet squares. Thank you!”

Read to Me!
Funded Nov 6, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are enjoying our new items in our classroom.
My students love listening to books on tape and CD. This helps them improve weekly test scores by being able to listen to our story read aloud while following along during center time. They also enjoy hearing other books read aloud. My struggling readers really benefit from this because they can successfully "read" a story without having to stop to ask what all the words are. They hear examples of fluent readers. This has helped my students with inflection and phrasing. I love hearing them read with more expression!
We are also enjoying the new classroom furniture. Having a comfortable, cozy spot to relax and read is so helpful. My students want to go find a book since they can sit in a soft chair and not on the floor.
My students and I are so grateful for our new reading items! I know my students for many years will get lots of enjoyment from this.”

Connecting Home & School with Reading
Funded Sep 9, 2008Thank you so much for helping my students! I know they will be so excited to get the new backpacks filled with books and games. These materials will help students and their families work together on reading skills. It will help not only the student I work with, but any brothers and sisters at home as well. I cannot wait to see the children's faces when they learn about the new backpacks! Thanks again for your generous donation”
