  • Hear It, See It, Now I'm Reading.

    Funded Sep 1, 2010

I would like to send a warm thank you from my students and myself. I am truly excited that you helped in funding this project.

Since I'm an inclusion teacher I always find myself thinking of ways to help my struggling students, that are reading and working below grade level to be more successful. The books on tape will help not only my struggling readers enjoy reading again but also my more advanced readers. My lower readers can use the books on tape to help them improve their fluency and my more advance reader can expand their reading knowledge by listening to books that are beyond their reading level.

I really cant express how truly excited and grateful I am, that there are other people in the world that share my passion, helping children be as successful as they can be.

Your kindness helps me remember why I became a teacher, to find an interesting and fun way to help my students be successful learners. My goal is to use the manipulative's so that my students won't feel frustrated and overwhelmed with reading.

Once again, thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Geraci

  • Bigger Is Better.

    Funded May 16, 2010

I would like to send a warm thank you from my students and myself. I am truly excited that you helped in funding this project.

Since I'm an inclusion teacher I always find myself thinking of ways to help my struggling students, that are reading and working below grade level to be more successful. Using an overhead projector and the pull down screen to make the material bigger is so beneficial for the visual learning students. Seeing the bigger picture is always better for the students who have a hard time focusing, which I have to say is most of my class this year.

I really cant express how truly excited and grateful I am, that there are other people in the world that share my passion, helping children be as successful as they can be.

Your kindness helps me remember why I became a teacher, to find an interesting and fun way to help my students be successful learners. My goal is to use the manipulative's so that my students won't feel frustrated and overwhelmed with reading small print.

Once again, thank you so much.”

  • Spend A Little, Save A Lot, Laminate On the Spot

    Funded Apr 18, 2010

Thank you so much for your kind contribution to my class and students. This laminating machine and laminating paper material are going to be so helpful and beneficial. Every year I have to create more new hands on material for my students to use because they are being used so much during the year, and they get destroyed. Now that we have a laminating machine, I will be able to reuse everything that I make.

Your donation will definitely empower my forth grade students and provide them with supplies that they will need in order to be successful learners. These materials will make it easier for me every year.

    Once again thanks so much!

I really appreciate all of your assistance in helping to fund my project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Geraci

  • Hear It, See It. Now I'm Learning.

    Funded Oct 30, 2009

I would like to send a warm thank you from my students and myself. I am truly excited that you helped in funding this project.

Since I'm an inclusion teacher I always find myself thinking of ways to help my struggling students, that are reading and working below grade level to be more successful. The books on tape, and all the other necessary materials (the cassette/ CD player, the head phones and the adapters) will help not only my struggling readers enjoy reading again but also my more advanced readers. My lower readers can use the books on tape to help them improve their fluency and my more advance reader can expand their reading knowledge by listening to books that are beyond their reading level.

  • Capture Learning with a Digital Camera

    Funded Jul 6, 2009

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children. Having a digital camera to utilize in the classroom is the most wonderful thing. You would be surprised how often we use it to capture priceless moments. It is so awesome to be able to capture moments of fun and learning. My class is an inclusion class and a lot of my students are low in reading and writing and have very low self-esteem. Capturing them, while they are learning and having fun helps them build their self-esteem. Seeing the silly mistakes in picture and seeing themselves at the beginning and then again at the end of the year really helps them become better learners. Once again thank you so much for helping my students be more successful.”

  • Hands on Equations Equals Algebra Learning

    Funded Aug 20, 2009

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children.

Having a set of 30 Hands on Equations to use as a class is so beneficial. I no longer have to use my only one to show and teach my students. We can all do it together as a class, and they can follow along as I model it for them and be able to try it for themselves.

I used this system in another district where I taught and my students really understood Algebra. This kit takes something very abstract and makes it manipulative and hands on. Using hands on activities are the best way to teach my inclusion students.

Once again thank you so much for helping my students be more successful

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Geraci

I'm a fourth-grade lead teacher in an inclusion classroom. I'm also on the yearbook and field day committees. Most of my students are considered "Title One." My school is based on the head start model of instruction, where most of the instruction is child-centered and hands-on. My school's budget is very small, so I need as much help as I can get in order for my students to be successful.
