  • Headphones for Total Concentration

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our classroom. The headphones you donated have really helped my students reach their personal reading and math goals. My students use online platforms that help them to hone in on reading and math lessons that are tailored to their individual needs. With the use of the headphones the students can listen to the material properly without distractions of the outside noises around them.

My co-teacher and I have been analyzing the data given from these online forums and have been seeing growth in our students long and short term goals. We accredit much of this success has to do with the headphones your donations supplied. I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ferrante

  • Make Us High Tech!

    Funded May 6, 2014

After receiving this beautiful high tech touch screen computer my students were extremely excited. They had so many mixed reactions from happy to proud. They could not believe that someone gave us such a generous gift to use in our classroom. They were so impressed with the Windows 8 model, most of the students have never used it before. I allowed every student to play around, or explore the features of the computer to get a feel of the new system. They were all astonished by the new set up of the computer system and said it felt like being on a tablet.

My students and I began to use the laptop to evaluate student work. My students were given a group work assignment to create PowerPoint presentations about a topic we studied in Ancient Egypt civilizations. The students were asked to create presentations on topics such as mummification, King Tut, the Nile River and more. The students used the laptop to view and peer review all groups presentations against a given rubric. As we all know the common core learning standards ask students to evaluate their work as well as work done by their peers and give positive and next step feedback and because of this laptop my students are able to do this more efficiently.

My students were so motivated to do this project to the best of their ability because of the laptop that was donated to us. I can not express how truly grateful my students and I are to have gotten such an amazing gift.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ferrante
