My students need access to an age-appropriate, safe and calming sensory room for when the classroom becomes too much to handle. Our current sensory room needs a facelift, so I am asking for various materials such as balance boards, fidgets, black-out tents, gel tiles, and wiggle seats so that any student needing a sensory break has the opportunity to do so. I have a vision that all students enter this calm, quiet and organized space, identify their needs, and follow a routine card independently or with adult support. Our sensory room is used daily by many students, sometimes even more than once! Having this available will give the students time and space to regroup, relax and return to the classroom.
