Because my students struggle with communication skills, they require visually stimulating communication materials to help them succeed. Though we were able to secure a color printer, we need help making sure we will have enough ink to print all of the materials (schedules, choice boards, behavioral visuals), my students need. Many of the functional daily living skills typical students are able to do, are difficult for my students. One of the functional skills we practice to help the students learn organizational, social and communication skills is asking for toys and placing them back where they belong when finished. The shelving unit will help to make this skill easier to teach. We want our students to learn skills that will help them interact with peers and function independently as they grow!
