My students are special....they beat the odds by doing well not just in one language, but in two. They are in a dual language program that has a goal of bi-literacy and being bilingual. Our school is in a impoverished area where more than 96% of the students are on free or reduced lunch and are considered English Language Leaners. I find that the odds just make my students more resilient and successful in the end. Research shows that bilingual students are known to be divergent thinkers. My students will have the opportunity to have quality resources to prepare them for our modern day workforce.
