Students at my school are from a Title 1 school district. This means that most of them come from an area that has high unemployment, low family income and is very transient. These problems are magnified by the low parental involvement in the school system, the older school buildings and small school budgets due to falling property taxes. However the students are willing to tackle the harder science classes even though the facilities and supplies are lacking. I want to teach my students a foundation of knowledge about human anatomy so that they are well prepared for various professional programs in medicine (nursing, radiological technology, laboratory technology, pharmacy, physical therapy, etc.) and related fields of study (exercise science, dance, art, anatomy, physiology).
