My students are five and six year old girls and boys. They are fun loving and eager to learn. My students get so excited to learn about something new whether it be that polar bears have black skin or that five minus two equals three. We are a class of kindergarteners in your typical middle to low class community. The majority of my students have parents who work to support the family and who are not often home. Students and their families rely on me to give them as many different ways of learning as possible. Some of what I try to provide for them are hands on manipulative's both in the class and at home. We use flash cards, counters, journals, etc. many of my materials are home made as I am a new teacher. Although this is my first year, I still aim to provide every student with a way to understand that best suits their learning style.
