Getting Hands-on With Science And Math!

Thank you so much for funding all of these awesome science materials and manipulatives! My 2nd-grade science class is going to be the envy of the other 2nd grade classes as the kids have fun while learning. We might even start a "science marathon day" every last Friday of the month, where all 2nd-grade classes can experiment and explore using the manipulatives, or just have learning fun with science. Even though we do not have the technology needed yet, compared to the other four 2nd-grade classes, we have the hands-on tools so desperately needed. None of this would have been possible, had it not been for your kindness.”

"Get ready to learn!" is what I always tell my 2nd-grade students every day as a reminder of what they are here for. I start the day with vigor and energy, and have my students pumped up and excited about the day ahead.. I strongly believe in motivation and engagement. Because of language barriers, not all share the love for learning in English, but I would say that the more they practice, the lesser the challenge-once they are motivated and engaged in the process. My school has a high number of students who are English Language Learners, and there are a few who are part of special education and gifted program. Even though we have to cater for and adapt to such a wide range of learning needs, we know that all children will learn if given the right tools and technology and teachers who care.
