  • Microscopes to Observe Our World

    Funded Feb 15, 2024

Thank you for supporting my students. They can’t wait to observe plankton that is living in the waters they swim and surf in! They will think differently every time they swallow a mouthful of water. They will learn why phytoplankton are so important for oxygen and food for us.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hyatt

  • Let’s Make Some Quality Projects!

    Funded Oct 29, 2022

Thank you for your generous gift. Many students were able to produce quality projects and were able to compete in district and state levels in History Day and Science Fair. This was very helpful to get all students access to a color ink printer. Thank you again for your generosity”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Learn Science!

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

Thank you for supporting our class and providing us with the tools to be able to grow plants in our classroom. Next semester the 7th graders will be focusing on the relationship between photosynthesis and cellular respiration so this will help students be able to design an experiment to test the processes. We were unable to grow many plants in our classroom because we do not get light when the louvers are closed.

The 8th-grade students will be working on physical science and Newton's Laws. We look forward to using the cars to test force and friction.

Science is so fun when we can use the tools to help us learn and understand!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hyatt

  • DNA Models

    Funded Dec 6, 2014

Thank you very much for your donation to our classes. The students loved doing this activity. It was very engaging and it helped them to understand the structure of the DNA molecule. Using pipe-cleaners and beads, they made models of DNA and then were encouraged to teach another family member what the different color beads represented and about the scientists, Watson, Franklin and Crick, that are credited for discovering the shape.

My students still talk about their models and some hung them on their Christmas trees!

Now they can remember the what they learned in 7th grade science.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hyatt

Our school is in beautiful area with a diverse population with mostly Polynesians and Asians. We are a Title 1 school with many students on free and reduced lunch. As teachers, we are always helping out with supplies for our kids. Our school has a lot of pride and families have been attending our school for generations. Despite the tough odds, our students have high goals and as teachers, we are encouraging our students to aim high. We sometimes need help to continue making our classrooms engaging and fun.
