Technology today touches the lives of every learner in our homes, schools, and communities. It can help students acquire life skills they will need to survive in a complex, technological, global environment and workplace. It has been my great fortune to teach in the TAG (Talented and Gifted) Program at my school. My third grade classroom has 18 children; a combination of talented and gifted learners. Many of my students have gifted plans featuring critical and creative thinking goals as well as research and technology goals. Our school's new BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Policy has allowed for students who do have a device to bring it to class. This helps greatly since students can more readily access learning websites and locate information for research projects. However, not all students have their own device and classroom technology resources are limited. In order for all gifted and talented students to acquire, deepen, and enhance technology skills, more devices are needed.
