Children this age desperately depend on predictable routines and procedures that support their learning success and overall confidence in "doing" school. Cramped storage conditions lead to lost, damaged, or mixed up student materials which for a Kindergartner leads to frustration, anxiety, and discomfort in the classroom. Tears and tantrums can occur for young children who cherish the belongings they can't find!
