Equitable Access for ALL Students
Funded Nov 23, 2020Our parents were thrilled to know they would be able to have a printer of their own to use for school. Some parents even had a hard time accepting such a generous gift, but I assured them they are worth it, and more! Here are some of the messages I received from the parents.
"I would like to thank you for all then effort you put on providing the students, including my child, with a printer to use for her school work. Thank you very much."
"I had connected the printer and the kids are so happy with the printing! I truly appreciate Ms. McGrath hard work everyday for printing me the handouts! I want to thank both Ms. Battes and Ms. McGrath for assisting Hassan and Talia with the printer and save me a trip everyday to school. Your efforts and cooperation are highly appreciated! I had included some photos for Hassan and Talia with the printer. You can see how excited they both are!"
The impact is seen directly in the improvement in fine motor skills for our younger students. They are now able to work with pencils, crayons, scissors, and glue instead of just on a computer screen. The students are excited to be able to do more crafting at home, while the parents are enjoying the autonomy and less reliance on the school.
Your efforts are truly appreciated.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Battes
Ukuleles for 7th Grade!
Funded Oct 25, 2020As you are aware, the Covid Pandemic has not released its grip on our nation. Because of this, our school is still not able to open. We have received the ukuleles that you so generously donated to our school. Our music teacher has started to tune them as well. But sadly, our school has no students in it. When we do get our students back, I will be sure to update you on how the project is moving forward.
Be safe, and thank you again. The ukuleles will be ready for our 7th graders when they return.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Battes
Magnetic Math!
Funded Aug 6, 2008Many many thanks for your donation to my project, Magnetic Math. Your contribution will enable my students to gain and hold a tight grasp on number sense, place value, time, and money. These essential concepts are the building blocks for a strong mathematical background. Building on these areas my students this year and all the years to follow will be able to become lifelong learners. Rest assured your donation will last for many years to come, giving students problem solving skills that are crucial to their lives during and after their formal education. Also, by using large magnetic math tools I can have the students walk to the front board to count money or show elapsed time on the large clock. This will help them to feel comfortable in front of an audience. This skill will also help the students to learn from making mistakes in front of others, giving them self confidence and helping them to be comfortable with math.
Again, your donation is truly appreciated and I look forward to introducing these new math “toys” to my students in September”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Battes
