My school is an inner city K-8 elementary/middle school. Almost all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch program as they are economically disadvantaged. I teach third grade Reading/English/Spelling. My students are awesome! I've created a classroom that is structured and a positive learning environment. Students know that I respect them and I expect the same respect in return. I love watching them absorb new information each day! I have high expectations for them and they truly want to learn. They want to be leaders when we go into groups at various stations in the classroom. I am working to create centers where students can take ownership of their area and their learning. My vision is that if they want to sit at a table or lay on a carpet, they can choose how they will work each day during that time.
