I have over 30 students during a typical day at Lane Middle School. These students come to me with a range of learning disabilities. Most are performing below grade level and require a lot of support to be successful from day to day. My focus with these groups are: implementing their Individualized Education Plan, teaching and reteaching state standards, modifying work and pointing out their successes everyday. Many days my students want to give up and quit school.l They are compared to their peers that have no learning disability. We celebrate small victories EVERYDAY! My goal is to get these students performing at their best and show growth. Our school is a multicultural and ELL school. Due to be a very low economic status of our students, 100% receive free breakfast and lunch. However, despite the struggles they are finding success through out the day by accomplishing tasks in their core classes.
