  • Special Needs Learners Benefit From Teacher Created Materials

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Thank you for allowing me to have the tools inside my classroom to help my students learn! The printer gives me the ability to create and share materials that my students need in real time. I don't have to wait for copies anymore! My students' desks are covered in charts to help them learn and tailored to each individual need.I was also able to create writing folders for them and they LOVE using them. My students get super excited when they see something in color too. Thank you again! This has changed how quickly I can provide my students with tools they need to succeed!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zettler

  • Curious Kindergarteners

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

The scholastic readers have made a tremendous impact in my classroom. My students look forward to reading these booklets every Friday. It is wonderful to have material that my students are interested in. These weekly readers provide a way for my entire class, including students with disabilities, to be engaged in reading. The students that are reading become leaders in my classroom to help the students that struggle to read.

The scholastic weekly readers have been a great addition to my classroom because my students get the opportunity to learn about current events. This was not always the case for my students as we do not have a social studies curriculum. I believe it is very important for my students to know about what is going on in the world. The weekly readers provide age appropriate material to educate my students about current events. The last one my students read was about spending the holidays with family and making cookies. After the break I had a few students tell me about how they went home and made cookies with their mom or dad. It really made my heart smile.

I cannot thank you enough for allowing my students access to such a wonderful program. The best part is seeing the smiles on their faces when it is weekly reader time. Especially students that struggle to read or are not very motivated to read. This is fun and engaging for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zettler

The scholastic weekly reader will help my students build important social skills and reinforce reading and math skills. This fun, interactive, weekly reader is something that I used to look forward to as an elementary student each week. I want to share that love of learning and excitement with my students this year. There are so many topics covered in the scholastic weekly reader that are important to the growth of a kindergarten student. Whether it is how to treat each other or how to take ownership of your own work, these are skills that need to be reinforced for all my students. The scholastic weekly reader is an opportunity for me to teach my students a variety of skills in one booklet!
