Help Us Bring Life Into Our Playground!
Funded Jan 28, 2013I do not have enough words to describe the impact you have created for my students. As you can see from the pictures they are thrilled to enjoy the new equipment during their physical education time. Your donations inspired parents to get together and purchase a canopy in order to provide a shaded area for the students to continue developing their fine and gross motor skills. Not only did the sand boxes help their kinesthetic movements, but it gave them the opportunity to learn life skills such as: sharing, taking turns, keeping the area clean and picking up after themselves. The fact, that they saw the materials being delivered to our room and assembled by their parents gave them pride of ownership.
Like I mentioned in my proposal the materials were not only for my class, but for the entire Kindergarten team and TK (Transitional Kindergarten). We have all collaborated to ensure that the materials remain on our campus, clean and accessible to all of our students. Thank you so much for your donations, thanks to people like you, children can continue receiving a quality education, but most importantly feeling that learning is fun!”

Funded Oct 22, 2012Thank you so much for your generosity! My students are thrilled with their scholastic readers "magazines." Every month we receive four readers (one per week) each pamphlet has vivid pictures, songs, phonemic exercises, poems, stories and a poster to put up in my classroom. Its amazing to see them point to the poster and relate to it. For instance this month we received a poster about winter with new vocabulary words. The kids pointed to each word and acted them out saying things like, "its cold outside!" and "it doesn't snow in LA!" Thank you so much for bringing real life connections through literacy to my students!”

Funded Dec 4, 2009Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for you generous donations. My students loved the materials you donated to us. Our beanbag board has brought enthusiasm into our classroom and a desire to learn. Most of my students are five year olds and need to stay active in order to retain their attention. Using the beanbag board I have been able to improve their eye and hand coordination playing games such as: Follow the Leader, Simon Says, Four Corners, and Call Your Shot. Most importantly students think we are having fun and not learning, but in reality I use this game to reinforce daily skills such as: numbers, shapes, colors, letters, and riddles. The children are also learning to play in a noncompetitive way improving gross motor skills that are crucial for their development at this stage.
It is through people like you that teachers can deliver quality education to students who are sometimes deprived of activities or games that are educationally fun. The games you have purchased for our classroom have not only been helpful for my students, but also to myself as a teacher. I can now deliver lessons that are age appropriate, fun, and full of energy for students to take advantage of. Thank you once again for your donation! ”

Funded Apr 27, 2009I'm writing to thank you for your generous donations. The learning games you have purchased for our classroom have helped my students learned in a more relaxed atmosphere. Today students are not allowed to enjoy educational games due to state testing, but we have to remember that students are children; they need a fun way to learn new material. My students and I played: identifying letters, sounds, rhyming words, and opposites. When someone filled their card they yelled BINGO! For many it was their first learning experience. It was a lot of fun!
Our school would have never allowed me to purchase these materials with school funds. We are facing a budget crisis and money is strictly being used for core material. Kindergarten students need kinesthetic and visual stimulation in order to master new standards. Without your help my students and I would not have had the fun we did playing the games.
I also want you to know that the games are being shared with other teachers so that all students can have the opportunity to enjoy this learning experience! Thanks a million!”

CCC-Cat Begins With a C or K???
Funded Dec 10, 2008I am so excited to receive the Language Instant Learning Centers! Thanks to your generosity I will be able to differentiate instruction for my students. Workshop is one of the most difficult learning activities to plan for. This time is utilized to focus on students who may have difficulty mastering a standard; however, we are not to forget about our average and advanced learners. We need an array of activities to keep them engaged and focused. Lessons during workshop need to be challenging and grade level appropriate. Thanks to your kind donation my students will have fun and exciting lessons to keep them enthusiastic about learning! Thank you so much”

Help Us Travel To China!!!
Funded Nov 17, 2007I'm so excited that you have purchased the materials needed to present my multicultural lesson! I will use the books to introduce China and props to get the students excited. Additionally, we will use the cookbook and props to cook a Chinese meal! Every year I try to bring in as many materials as I can, but with budget restrains it’s not always easy. This year thanks to people like you my students will get a good lesson with materials to use without me having to worry about money. Thank you so much for your generosity!
