I have a wonderfully talented group of ladies who have given up months of their free time to dedicate themselves to a citywide DNA Barcoding competition. This summer, they spent two weeks in a professional lab, and relished the fact that they could wear lab coats, and be "real scientists". Now, we have acquired all of the necessary equipment, but the girls keep asking, "What about the lab coats?" To them, dressing like a scientist is an important step to feeling like a scientist. In case you are wondering, there are eight girls, who make up two teams. One team is studying the bacteria found on pizza dough, and the other is investigating cases of food fraud in calamari (officially titled "Calamari or Pig Rectum?")
