  • Oh Stink! We're Out of Ink! 2024

    Funded Mar 16, 2024

Many thanks for your generous donations to fund our class project! The printer and ink have been put to good use from the moment we received it. We are fortunate enough to have computers in our classroom, so our students have been hard at work publishing their writing pieces. Each student was able to print their report about their invention, and present it to the class.

Coming for a low-income community many of my students are not fortunate enough to have these resources at home. When the package first arrived, the best way to describe the excitement on not only my students faces, but my own could be compared to a young child on Christmas morning. The students were excited to unpack their new printer and get straight to work.

Thank you for your continuing love and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

  • Two Screens for Multiple Learners!

    Funded Mar 29, 2021

There are no words to describe my sincere thanks for your generous donations. In these ever-changing times, technology has come to the forefront of learning. When working at home, and being on zoom and google classroom, two screens has opened a world of possibilities. Two screens allows me, as the teacher, to have multiple groups and be working with multiple students at multiple times.

In addition to grouping, two screens has also given us the ability to have lessons and information at the tip of my fingertips.

I can not thank you enough for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

  • Quiet Spaces for Remote Learners!

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you for your generous donations! My students are fully remote, and are working in homes where there are 3-4 children working at the same time. This tends to be a very noisy and distracting environment, and thanks to your donations, they received noise canceling headphones! These headphones are helping to block outside noise so that students can pay close attention and stay focused. These headphones have been giving my students the ability to thrive no matter what their learning environment is.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

  • All You Need Is A Book & A Cushion!

    Funded Jan 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! Your generous donations have allowed my students to create a comfortable spaces for reading, working and doing their best around the classroom. With various disabilities and academic needs, these cushions have opened my classroom to new opportunities. When my students first saw the cushions they were extremely excited, calling out their favorite colors and yelling how they couldn't wait to use them. It was a sight to see the excitement on their face! Thank you again for your generous donations and your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

Many thanks for your generous donations to fund our class project! The printer and ink have been put to good use from the moment we received it. We are fortunate enough to have computers in our classroom, so our students have been hard at work publishing their historical writing pieces. Each student was able to print their report about the American Revolution, and present it to the class.

  • Batter Up! A Team Evolves in Brooklyn!

    Funded Nov 29, 2016

Thank you for your overwhelming generosity to this project! The softball club was ecstatic to see the new equipment arrive. The smile on my students faces when they saw the new equipment was that of a child on Christmas morning! The new gloves, bats, bases, tee and even pennies have already been put to good use. The team and I have been working hard to practice our skills, and we even hope to get outside soon. With your continuing generosity as a model for our students, we hope to give back to our own community through the wonderful world of sports!

Thank you again for opening up a new world of expression, teamwork, and fun for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

  • A Team Grows In Brooklyn

    Funded Dec 1, 2015

With just 52 days until spring training, it was fantastic to see the excitement on my student's faces as new gloves were introduced to our team! The gloves fit beautifully, and were ready to use right out of the package. My students enjoyed tossing the new softballs balls back and forth with the biggest smiles on their faces. The gym is full of excitement as the kids learned the fundamentals of the game in a wonderful way.

Thank you again for all of the assistance to get this project funded!

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Troise”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Larkin

The students in our Title I Elementary School come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of our students are English Language Learners. In fact, our school has one of the largest ENL (English as a New Language) populations in the city. Students spend most of their time in school, or at after-school programs, and do not have much time for organized sports. Teaching students organized sports helps to improve their self-esteem, teamwork, and English. It also provides students with an outlet to have some fun, and learn something new.
