My students attend a small school in South Los Angeles, where the poverty level is extremely high and access to computers is very slim. They all receive free-lunch because of the low socio-economic level. My students are in 2nd grade and work very hard to improve. Many live in single parent households where there is little technology. The school desires to give the students an education that will allow them to compete globally. In their world which consists of only a few city blocks, they have little knowledge of other places and experiences. All of my students love to work on with technology and are disappointed when they are unable to access it. The students deserve to have the opportunities to learn and explore with technology so that they can be more successful.
