My school is listed as rural but our school is large. We house over 600 students in 2nd through 4th grade. Many of these students received free or reduced price lunch based on income. My classroom has students from many diverse backgrounds. Our parish relies heavy on the oil industry for the tax base. With the declining oil production in America, our tax base has eroded, along with it went many school resources, yet through it all we continue to be an A rated school. This is do to the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to reach his/her full potential. We achieve this success by implementing a curriculum that builds a solid foundation in reading, writing and math. Your support to this project will help our students see themselves as successful learners!
