I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school. My school is located in Boro Park Brooklyn. We have a diverse population of students mainly Non-English students. I teach in an integrated class setting with a co-teacher. Our class is composed of 25 students, 15 of whom are a mix of English Language Learners and Native English Speakers, and 10 Special Education students who receive different services mainly Speech. Although our class is integrated, you could not tell which students are which. Every student in our class is treated special in their own way. We create an environment that our students will enjoy working together and learning from each other.
