Shakespeare Speaks

Funded Mar 27, 2018

I must express so much gratitude for your magnanimous gesture of charity. Developing adequate words to truly convey the impact of your giving is most difficult. It was veritably remarkable and rewarding to see Shakespeare being brought to life for a group of students who otherwise would be lost in translation-- literally and figuratively. The students were engaged, inquisitive, and enthusiastic while reading, discussing, and analyzing these graphic novels that unequivocally remove the fear and trepidation from one of the greatest literary classics of all time. The universal themes and connections were evident and made plain without losing the integrity of the work. I would further like to say that comprehension was elevated and encouraged with the use of visual representations. Your giving has not only touched my heart but the hearts and minds of my students who were intrigued and astonished that truly good people were concerned for their progress and learning. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! For all you have done and contributed, I . . . say . . . thank you.”

With gratitude,

Ms. C
