My students are 4th and 5th graders who love doing science activities. They come from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. My school uses the FOSS science curriculum which has many fantastic hands-on experiences for students. Students learn about simple circuits, properties of matter, animal adaptations, geology, astronomy, and human physiology. As we transition into the Next Generation Science Standards, I look forward to exposing my students to the science and engineering practices that will prepare them for the future.
