  • Snacks an Water for Students in Need.

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me feed the children of NYC! Although our public schools provide lunch, sometimes a small snack or drink can really change someone's mood.

Our young people much appreciate your support in helping me keep the free closet available. Thank you!!

The most impressive part to me, is how the students do not take advantage of it. They really only ask for a snack when they need one! It is your generosity that allows me to continue being a safe space. Keep being fabulous! :)”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Fidget Toys for Peer Mediation Center!

    Funded Jul 2, 2024

Students thank me everyday for the fidget toys being available to them during their Peer Mediation groups. When they are brought in to have a conversation with someone they are in conflict with, it is not easy. The fidget toys allow for them to get that nervous energy out without scratching, picking at their skin, biting their nails, etc.

I appreciate your generosity in allowing me to create a space where students can feel calm & supported. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through the projects and for choosing to donate to this one!”

  • Snacks & Water for Low-Income Students

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you for allowing me to provide our students with the most basic of needs- food & water. It is due to your donation that I can help a hungry child's day get better, or ease a temper with a sip of water and a small snack. Our students are so grateful to you for your generosity.

My classroom is more than just the school's Peer Mediation space, but also a home within the school building for many children. They drop in to fix up their hair, use spray deodorant or perfume, grab a snack or a drink, etc. Thank you again for helping me to re-stock and maintain such a space for our most needy students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Snacks and Hygiene Products for Students

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

My students are so grateful for your generous donation! Because of you all, I was able to feed hundreds of students and provide deodorant to those in need. These basic needs being met help to provide humanity and calm spirits to our youth.

When coming in to ask for a deodorant after playing basketball in first period, my student replied "you're the best!" when I said that I did in fact have some for the taking. I replied "No actually our donors are! Never forget that there are great people in the world!".

    Thanks for being that person!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Basic Needs (Snacks & Hygiene Products) for NYC students

    Funded Nov 15, 2023

Thanks to you, I can say yes when a hungry child stops by the Peer Mediation room asking "do you have a snack?" I ran so low, that I had to hang a sign outside last Friday saying "no snacks today". After this order was filled, the snacks were delivered the very next day!!

Additionally, I had a student stop in during 8th period today asking if I had any deodorant, because the basket in my student center was empty. They thought I would say no, but thanks to your order, I said "Wait! Let me open up these boxes right here!". They were so relieved to see that I had fresh deodorants in there.

These moments are only made possible through donors like yourself. I would run out (based on my own budget) within a week!

Thank you for allowing me to say yes to more students.

    :)”

  • Basic Needs for Low-Income NYC Students

    Funded Oct 16, 2023

Today alone, I have given away four deodorants and 32 snacks. It's 9:54am. Your donations will never go towards anyone other than our NYC kids. As I'm writing this thank you letter, 3 migrant students just arrived to my room, to ask for a "barrita", which means "little bar", which means a granola bar. Thank you for allowing me to meet these requests more often.

The struggles that these students face are unimaginable to me. At their age, they should not have to worry about having their basic needs met. It's because of you that so many of them won't, today and in the coming weeks. Thank you so very much!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Basic Needs (hygiene Products and Snacks) for Nyc students.

    Funded Jan 10, 2023

These kids come to me everyday for things like deodorant, toothbrushes and snacks. Some of them are migrant students, who just arrived in our country. Some of them are struggling financially. But all of them are so grateful for your generous donation. These items help my students have one less thing to worry about each day. Thank you for allowing me to provide a space where basic needs can be met. It is because of you that someone will not be hungry today, or will not be bullied for hygiene habits, and so on. Thank you so very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Snacks & Lunches for Low Income Students

    Funded Dec 14, 2022

Thank you so very much for the donation towards snacks and drinks. My students are grateful every day, for every single snack provided to them.

When they first saw the "snack closet" all filled up, their jaws dropped. I have a school full of 1,350 students, who ALL know that they can come to my room for a small snack or drink. One student currently has a parent in the hospital and uses EBT cards to go food shopping at home. She asked for one bag of cheese-its to bring home for an after school snack. I filled a bag with approximately ten mixed snacks for her to bring home. Not only did she try to give it back to me repeatedly, but she eventually cried upon accepting the support.

Our children need to come to school to learn and grow. However, they do not need to think about their grumbling belly. Thank you for helping to make sure that happens even less often.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Neary

  • Snacks/Lunches for Low-Income, Struggling Students

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Every single day, students come to me looking for a little something to eat. Sometimes, I get to give them exactly what they ask for. Other times, they dig through my personal lunch, looking for something they like. Thanks to you and your donation, I will be able to meet the requests of more hungry children.

These students always react with gratitude, thanking me profusely for a mere granola bar. They're not asking for anything fancy or expensive, they just want a snack to fill their grumbling belly. Thank you for providing that to them!”

  • Painting Kits for Students' Relaxation

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

The art kits that your donation provided has already gone to over a dozen different students, who expressed a desire to learn ways of managing their anger. These paint by numbers kits, were given with the instruction to use them "as a means to clear their mind". One student began hers in the classroom, immediately, while she was in the "cool down center". Another set of 3 siblings each chose the dog painting, after telling me that their dog was hit by a car yesterday (in front of one of them) and he might not make it. Your donation is literally teaching life-changing skills to our most needy youth. Thank you so very much!!!”

    With gratitude,

My students are struggling youths, who choose to work towards a "no negativity" lifestyle, with me, in spite of their unimaginable challenges. These children volunteer to work a Peer Mediation program on their lunch periods, learning therapist communication and de-escalation strategies to prevent and resolve countless altercations per year. My students also volunteer to get on camera each year and share out their truths, in an effort to spread the message of "no negativity". They describe their personal challenges such as losses of parents & siblings, being victims of sexual assault, homelessness, foster care, constant suspensions from school, surrounded by violence, and hunger. Although I can't solve every problem, I can rest my head knowing that my room is a safe haven, offering food, clothing, art supplies, relaxation materials, and more. Providing for 1,350+ students is out of my budget and I need some help!
