We Need to Read!!
Funded Dec 1, 2015I want to thank you all so much for contributing to my classroom. You really don't know how encouraging it is to see so many people who are willing to contribute to students that they do not know. Being able to walk into my classroom with brand new materials that I knew would be put to good use was so refreshing to me and honestly gave me a boost of energy and enthusiasm to continue this fight for my students education.
The materials purchased have specifically helped my students in the area of phonemic awareness. They have been practicing how to hear and manipulate sounds in order to blend them together to read. It is actually a skill that is not easy for all students, especially my students with special needs. Having these materials have enabled these students to continue to practice these skills in a fun way, which really motivates them to continue to try even when they are having difficulty.
My students are especially loving the computer programs and games. Sometimes I underestimate the power of technology in the classroom. This realization has encouraged me to make the use of technology more of a priority in the future, further reaching students who are having difficulty and are less motivated to try. As I continue this fight, trying to help my students in need, I am again truly encouraged to know that there are so many people who care and stand with me!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bodden
