My school recently celebrated its 40th year. As a result of the fact that we are not a Title 1, we do not have extra resources for students. Many of my students' families struggle financially. Delays in language impede their development of vital skills. Our school serves students that are in-transit, who sadly have no home to call their own. Out of my class of 25 students, two of my students are homeless, four work with a speech pathologist; four are in Indian Education support classes; and five are in bilingual or ESL resource classes. They are economically disadvantaged and all of them are eligible for free breakfast and lunch.
