As the school social worker I work with students who are diverse learners with social and emotional needs. My students have a range of needs related to Autism, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, and other Learning Disabilitie. These amazing students are motivated to learn and be a contributing member of their classroom and school. Their strengths are shining examples to their classmates about hard work, diversity and accepting everyone for who they are. My students spend most of their days in general education classrooms with support from the special education teacher and other support personnel. As their school social worker I work to help them form relationships with their peers, increase independent functioning and be successful in all their academic endeavors.
