  • Flexible Seating Makes Learning More Fun

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting my students and our classroom improvement plan! These versatile stools will help transform a regular elementary classroom into a science lab. It is my hope that making the classroom look and feel more like a science lab will inspire my students to take their science education more seriously.”

  • SCIENCE MYSTERY: The Case of the Needy Teacher!

    Funded May 7, 2024

As you can see in the photos, my students are fully engaged and love the mystery activities that your donation helped fund. Thank you for helping me provide my students with technology rich learnng experiences that promote inquiry learning and maintain a high student interest level; it's almost as if the students are enjoying the activities so much that they do not even realize that they are actually learning! I used the gift card to purchase mysteries that will support our 5th grade science standards. Thank you for your help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Winnett-DeZardo

  • Full-S.T.E.A.M. Ahead for Experiments!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

The children loved all of the hands-on activties that we have been doing for science class! We 'grew' crystal hedgehogs, exploded volcanoes, made slime and built 5 different simple machines so far. Our next several experiments will include a dancing doodling robot, growing a crystalized tree in a petrie dish, creating a rainbow ferris wheel, creating our own bouncy polymer balls, and the one the kids are most excited about - creating a robotic hand! The best part is that all of these experiments are conducted with groups of 2 or 3 kids, so they are ALL fully engaged and learning. Thank you so much for providing these wonderful materials for our classroom.”

  • Science Mystery: The Case of the Needy Teacher

    Funded Jun 8, 2023

The resources you have provided to my classroom in the form of a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card have enriched my students greatly. One activity they have enjoyed is converting improper fractions into whole number fractions using a Halloween themed color by number activity, which is self checking. They create adorable haunted houses, witches, and ghosts by converting the fractions and then using a key to tell them what color each block should be.

Another activity the students have engaged in includes acting as a detective to determine the equivalent measurements from U.S. Customary to Metric units, and vice versa. The detective activities reinforce a difficult concept that students need to use in both science and math classes, so these resources are doubly useful!”

  • Black Light Glow Learning

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

I wish you could have been in the classroom to observe the smiles and excitement that my students had for all of the activities that created our blacklight classroom. Every student was on task and deeply engauged - it was every teacher's dream! They absolutely loved it, they learned while having fun, and they can't wait to do it again soon! Thank you so much for making this possible for my current students as well as for my future students! I plan to make the blacklight classroom a regular occurrance!”

  • Help Our Collaboration Station Go Mobile!

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

You won't believe this, but my students are actually FIGHTING over who gets to use these amazing new seats! I informed them that they will have to ROTATE the flexible seating, but they are 9 or 10 years old; they just don't UNDERSTAND that. They are acting as if someone told them that if they have this amazing new miracle seat, they will be successful 4th graders, no matter what they actually do, (CLARIFICATION: I NEVER SAID THIS, BUT STUDENTS AND ADULTS INTERPRET THINGS SO MUCH DIFFERENTLY...), and they absolutely LOVE the new seating options! I am going to write another grant to try to give my students additional flexible seating - please consider donating to this grant as well - to help my students get to where they need to be in order to be productive 9-10 year olds. Please search the DonorsChoose.org site (and please, please, Please, PLEASE ask/forward to your friends, too!) for Ms. Winnett's grants from Charleroi School District; I assure you that any donations are used to benefit today's youth in PA. Lastly, please share my information with anyone you may feel is in a position to make our grant proposals become a reality. Today's youth DESERVES the opportunities of today's adults. Thank you so much for helping my kids - I am in awe of the amazing generosity of the public.”

  • Science + Technology + ELA = Creative Learners

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for providing these materials for our classroom! I am super excited to have such high quality educational resources to boost student interest and motivate my students to learn. Your donations will make a huge positive impact on the learning that will take place in my classroom, and I can't thank you enough for your generosity.

The kids lit up like Christmas trees when I introduced the 3D-Doodler pens! The excitement level was amazing, and they couldn't wait to begin their first project, writing their 3 dimensional name. Thank you again, they love the pens!”
