Pretend Play
Funded Apr 3, 2023My kids LOVE the dress up outfits! Everyday since we have gotten them- there is always someone dressed in an outfit. As I speak I have a veterinarian and a mailman walking around my class. The kids' favorite outfit by far is the astronaut costume.
They look forward to when I bring these outfits out- and they are really learning how to take turns (with the help of a timer!). The stethoscope really works- and they have been listening to their own heart, each others, and mine. They are taking care of their stuffies and their dolls, and delivering mail to their friends.
I am so grateful to you for your generosity!”

Funded Dec 23, 2022Thank you so much for your continued support for our self contained classes. This new bounce house is a thousand times better than the one that died. It is bigger which means the kids can play more safely. It is more interactive so the kids have more fun. It has two awesome slides which the old one didn't have. It also has no balls which is safer and more sanitary.
The children LOVE thus bounce house . I love watching them because they can work together, race each other down the slide , and their smiles are huge.
Thank you again”

Recess Materials
Funded May 6, 2021Thank you so much for all of your continued support for my classroom full of wonderful kiddos.
They have been having a ton of fun with these items and look forward everyday to playing with them they need constant brain breaks in order for them to learn as much as they can...and giving them these items has been wonderful.
You are wonderful people and it means so much to me that you have helped us.
My students are so special..not just because they have special needs but also because they are the sweetest children you will ever meet.”

Funded Sep 14, 2022The sensory room is a vital component of our students' daily education. In this room they are learning how to play, cooperate and share, and care for each other.
Our old bounce house was small. It fit a few friends only and it was constantly being broken and fixed because it was meant for little kids. We serve Prek to 5th grade, so I chose a huge bounce house with no balls and 2 slides. When it first arrived, alot of people laughed and said well this is too big. It turns out it is the perfect size. My entire class can and usually do fit into this bounce house. Because there is an obstacle course, some of them are having to learn how to crawl over things that they never would have had to, strengthening the muscles that an occupational therapist would have to help out with. They are learning to take turns, to help each other out (and in my class I put the two tunnels from the last project next to it and make them army crawl through on the way back to the bounce house )which is helping them learn how to follow 2 and 3 step directions..
I am so full of gratitude and everyday when another child is able to go in there and smile and laugh, it just reminds me how wonderful our donors are
Thank you so much”

Color Printing Is So Important for My Special Needs Students!
Funded Aug 13, 2021I am so thankful for all the support you have given to me and to my classrooms over the years.
Being able to print in color in an ESE room with students with special needs is like giving glasses to someone who can not see. Students in my room do better when they can see real life pictures of things- such as the toy they have in their hand. I am able to make so many manipulatives for them to work on- folders with Velcro that they can sort things by color, shape, size, etc. My students learning has increased because we are now able to see in color
Thank you so much!”

Special Seats for My Wonderful Class!
Funded Sep 23, 2021Our new chairs are awesome. The kids at my old school and my new school both love sitting in them. They get to sit in their blue chair if they are behaving- and their behavior has improved because of your gift.
I have had many other teachers admire these chairs and ask where I got them from.
I am able to sit on the floor with my kids in this chair and be comfortable while I do story time or while we sing songs.
This gift has made a tremendous difference in our day- and your continued support makes a huge difference to me. Thank you for supporting me in this journey.”

Funded Apr 13, 2021Our class calendar was falling apart. We literally did not have all the days to put up every month. This new calendar not only has all the pieces- it is fancy. It allows me to put up holidays and birthdays without having to remove the date. It lets me use three cards every day to tell which day is today, which is yesterday and which is tomorrow.
It fits perfectly on my bulletin board and we are already using it.
The phonics material is perfect as well. My non verbal student has already used the beginning sounds one- it is so wonderful that it is magnetic and he can put it on my filing cabinet. He really likes things that are magnetic so that was in use the day it came!
I am so appreciative of all of your support. The kids love it when boxes come in and can't wait for the next ones. We do have multiple projects out there, including a math resources project and a recess one. Right now they are being matched dollar per dollar by a company and any help you can give would be awesome. Sharing on fb to people outside my reach would be so helpful. Thank you again for being so supportive of my class”

Funded Mar 17, 2021My students love receiving packages in the mail from awesome people like you. We received our Phonics books and the kids were so excited.
Because we are an Access class and don't use traditional curriculum- we are not given books- which requires me to print a lot and find great resources. The kids are used to paper. To get a phonics book with their name on it that we can use as a group really meant alot to them, and it made my life so much easier.
We have started using them and will continue with them next year since I keep these students. I believe because of these books their phonics level (and thus their reading level) will continue to improve.
Thank you again for always being so supportive of our classroom.”

Books at My Students' Level That Are Diverse!
Funded Sep 24, 2020Thank you again for helping with my project to bring different books into my classroom.
I have a fourth grade student who is learning to multiply, and when the box came one of the first books that came out was about multiplication. If you could see his face light up- he immediately called "dibs" and has read it every day since it has arrived.
I have some kindergarteners who loved the Pete the Cat books and they have been trading daily which they get to read. It is very cute to watch them looking through the books and then ask if the other student is finished with their book.
I got a ton of math books that will help me teach math. My kids don't get a lecture- and usually we watch a video to go along with what I am teaching them- but to be able to read a book and reinforce the skill with the kids not even realizing they are still working on math is invaluable (especially for my 3rd grader who hates math but loves to read). Finally, I got many diverse books so my students can all see themselves in the books they are reading- which is so rewarding again to see their faces light up”
