  • Interactive Teaching Interactive Learners

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! With your donations, all of my students have their own magnetic letter kits to practice phonics and spelling. Due to the current social distancing protocols, having their own supplies is so important. All students are making gains in alphabet skills and I believe that hands on practice with their letter kits is making a big difference!

Thank you for the drawing tablet. I am able to use digital manipulatives more easily when teaching in person, when I need to provide blended learning, and when I need to teach lessons remotely. Teaching this year has had many struggles, but your donation and support have made a difference in all of our lives!”

    With gratitude,

  • Start Each Day On A Fresh Page!

    Funded Aug 5, 2020

This school year has been unlike no other. There have been many challenges, but the kids are more enthusiastic than ever to be at school learning. Your support of our classroom has helped ease the stress and allowed me to provide lots of learning opportunities for all of my students! They love writing and learning together. They are especially proud to have their own journals which are serving as proof of their growth as authors! They can reflect on their own work seeing how much they are growing. Together, we have inspired authors and readers to exceed their expectations and find joy in learning!”

  • Happy, Healthy, and Organized

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting my project and my students. This year has been a very different experience for all of the students and teachers. Having some stability and a supply of classroom resources makes some things seem "normal" during a not-so-normal time period!

Each student has their own crayon case and tools to keep organized which is vital to them feeling a little less stressed. They have the tools they need and can focus on learning. Every day students use the tissues and hand sanitizer as part of our stay healthy so we can stay in school procedures. We have been lucky to have remained healthy and able to remain face to face thus far.

Each time, they take out their crayons to color, I am reminded of the generosity in our world and am continuously grateful for the support of education. My students are just as thankful to have the supplies they need. Thank you for helping to take care of us this year; together we are making a difference!”

  • Can You Hear Me Now

    Funded Sep 6, 2019

Thank you so much for being a generous donor and supporting educators and their students! Your donation to my project will not only help my current students but my future students too!

Headphones may seem like a small item for a classroom but they play a huge role every day of school. My students listen to stories, work on phonics tasks to develop their spelling skills, and complete math activities that reinforce the lessons taught in class. They are able to work at their own level to receive personalized instruction. They also record themselves reading and responding to oral tasks. They even create videos to teach each other about various topics. Due to your donation, you helped make all of this possible!

Thank you for what you have done for my students and for caring for their education!”

  • Family Game Kits

    Funded Mar 1, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity! You helped me secure materials to create math review games for students to play together and to take home to practice with their families.

Students loved playing games and sharing with their families. Parents loved seeing math in action and seeing the mastery and growth! All of my students improved on their addition and subtraction standards and I believe the extra practice made the difference.

The packets are ready to go for my new students and I am certain that I will see similar growth. Thank you for helping me bring this project to life. I might be a little biased, but together we make a great team!”

  • Tell Me Your Story

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations. Although funding a project asking for paper and pens may not have seemed like a big deal, it was huge for us! It is so nice to know that I have as much paper as my students need and they love writing with the pens!

Having pens makes my students feel special - they also recognize the importance of their words and work and are learning all about revising and editing. We talk constantly about improving and that it is easy to make changes even when writing with pens. They are more prone to reflecting on their own work to see how much they are growing!

My students love having opportunities to write and share their ideas. They love the one on one time we share as we read and reflect on their work. They are proud of their stories and cannot wait to share more each day. You helped play a role in that story! I can freely pass out paper and provide the luxury of a fancy ink pen to each of them!

Thank you for helping our class story this year end on a note of success!”

  • Blowing Their Minds One STEM Project at a Time

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

I am so thankful for your support. My students were inspired and enthralled during our STEM lessons each Enrichment class. At the beginning and end of each session, you could hear outbursts of oohs and ahhs as they learned something new! In addition, they left class with a huge smile saying, "I love science!" The ability to provide hands on activities made it easy to foster their excitement! Not everything went as expected each time, but they persevered and were eager to discuss ways to adapt and modify activities! You helped make this happen!

My classroom students also enjoyed hearing about our crystal projects, learning about our chemical reactions, and exploring the books. They really love using the magnet kits. We have had many days of indoor recess and it is awesome that the kids beg for me to take out the science kits. You helped our classroom library grow and my students to take a bigger interest in STEM!

Thank you again for supporting our school and their love of learning!”

  • Enriching Learners Through Literacy and Games

    Funded Mar 31, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity. Without donors like you, this project would not have happened. Without you, the classroom library would not have several books about money, saving money, and the impact of not planning ahead with money. Books allow students to see an experience through a character's eyes and help them think about connections to their own life. These connections allowed me to teach financial lessons about wants and needs and saving for their futures.

Through this grant you also added money games to my classroom. Today, students are not used to seeing their parents pay with cash and many struggle with the concepts of spending within a budget. The games allowed students to practice using play money and make change with coins and dollars. Students had time to practice with money to work on adding, subtracting, and improving their understanding of money.

I know for a fact that you made a positive impact in all of my students' lives. They talked more about saving and thinking about what they needed with more maturity. There was a student who took the lessons and discussions to heart when it came to shopping at the school book fair. She planned ahead by raising funds through a lemonade stand. She was so excited to show me the money she earned by herself and thoughtfully purchased several books at the book fair. Because she earned the money herself, she was more conscientious of her purchase, and was especially proud that she funded herself through a job. When students take a lesson and extend it further, you know, the lessons were a success! Thank you for providing materials to help this student and all others think about their financial futures. You are a part of their success story too!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Henderson

  • Family Learning And Teaching With Tablets

    Funded Dec 31, 2016

I believe that the more opportunities that a teacher has to share with families, the stronger the students become. With the tablets you provided through this project, my students have been able to document their learning and share it with their families through a class website. Throughout our lessons we can take pictures and share them with our families to increase their awareness and involvement. In addition, students have a greater ability to research topics to complete project based learning. They were incredibly proud of their STEM projects, pumpkin patch activities, and musical instruments then eagerly shared them with families who visited our classroom. Students are learning beyond textbooks and are making strong connections through authentic learning activities!

Students love using the tablets in class to listen to stories, work together on math games, record learning, and research topics that interest them. As a whole, they are becoming more fluent with the technology and this is a huge advantage for many of the students who do not have access to such devices at home.

The addition of technology in the classroom has also made it easier for me to differentiate reading and math activities for my students. This means that my students can work at their level and the best news is that they are making considerable gains in reading, writing, and math! My students love having a variety of media throughout the day, it certainly means they are never bored and are more engaged.

Thank you again for expanding their horizons and allowing their families to be more involved in their school work!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Henderson

  • Let Us Grow, Eat, and Learn

    Funded Sep 2, 2016

Thank you so much for helping our first grade learn about plants through an outdoor learning lab! The first grade students love our raised plant beds and have been incredibly engaged in our plant unit. Many of them state daily, "This has been the best day ever!"

The plants beds were easy to build and were put together by a 1st, 2nd, and a 4th grade student. Students helped add soil, and their reactions were heartwarming. They loved digging in the dirt. Many of them do not have their own gardens and this project provided them with an opportunity to learn outside about growing their own food. Our 1st graders planted seeds and cannot wait to munch on the fruits and vegetables that will sprout in our garden. They are eagerly awaiting lettuce and peppers to sprout from their seeds. They check the strawberry plants daily and are so excited that some fruits have appeared.

All of the students at our school enjoy walking past our gardening tables and as the plants grow, it will add some color and excitement to our courtyard. Many teachers have commented that the area looks great and they love seeing the fruits of our students' labor.

Thank you for providing our students with a learning opportunity that takes them outside, allows them to work with their hands, offers them fresh fruits and vegetables, and allows us to learn by doing. The lessons they learn will certainly stick with them and be some of their best school memories. Thank you so much for helping us meet our learning targets in such a meaningful way!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Henderson
