We want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of pancake batter and all the fun toppings for our pancake breakfast! The chocolate syrup, maple syrup, M&Ms, sprinkles, and chocolate chips added so much excitement and sweetness to the morning, making it an extra special treat for our students.

Your kindness and support made it possible for our students to share a delicious meal together and create a fun memory before winter break. It's because of thoughtful contributions like yours that we can bring joy and warmth to our school community.

We truly appreciate your generosity and commitment to our students. Thank you again for making a difference!”

  • Motivating Middle Schoolers

    Funded Sep 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! Your support means so much to us, and has greatly impacted our students' learning experience.

With a charging station in place, our iPads are ready and available for learning each day to ensure that our students can fully engage with our educational activities without any interruptions. A supply of snacks and prizes help to motivate our scholars, while at the same time increasing engagement by rewarding students as we participate in some healthy in-class competition, play games, and acknowledge their outstanding progress & efforts.

  • New Year, New Books!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! With your donations we were able to add a variety of high-interest, "want to read" titles to our library.

By adding new titles to our library we have reinvigorated our independent reading time. Our class was particularly excited by the Avengers and Minecraft titles. We were also excited to get a copy of "Omar Rising," the sequel to a book we read as a whole class novel.

Thank you, again, for your incredible support of our reading!”

  • Supplies for Learning

    Funded Dec 30, 2021

A huge THANK YOU for supporting our students' learning this year!

Your donation helped us to secure individualized supplies to keep our learning safe. Gallon Ziploc bags held a highlighter, pencils, post-its, and our class novel. A rapid charging station and portable speaker helped us to integrate technology into our daily lessons. With these supplies, our scholars were able to work in a clean, safe classroom environment.

Thank you, again, for your generous support of our students and their learning.”

    With gratitude,

  • On Your Mark, Get Set ... Read!

    Funded May 6, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom!

When students arrived back for in-person learning this fall they were excited to see a library full of brand new books, which only helped to energize and rebuild their interest in reading. After a year-and-a-half home, it is important that our shelves are full of titles that encourage kids to pick up a book - and your generous donations helped to make that happen!

My 6th graders are loving the "Shuri" series, books 1 and 2; kids love everything "Black Panther" and were excited to read a book where Shuri is the protagonist. For my 7th graders, "The Crossover" and "A Long Way Down" are the most passed-around titles.

We appreciate your continued support and encouragement of our reading - thank you!”

  • Library Restock

    Funded Jul 26, 2020

I first want to say thank you for your generous donation to our classroom library. The titles purchased came directly from our students' wishlists - and they are excited to get their hands on these books!

Students love graphic novels - and I love how excited they are to read them! Graphic novels help make reading accessible and fun for our more reluctant readers; stories movie quick enough to stay engaged and the pictures help kids to imagine the plot. Graphic novels are also great for teaching various skills, like theme and characterization. I am excited for these library additions (in particular "Nightlights" and "The Runaway Princess") for their strong protagonists.

We are also excited for the addition of "Shuri" and the "Wizenard" series. Students know of Shuri and Kobe Bryant, so having the book-connections will help engage students in the story. Plus, anything basketball - let alone basketball mixed with magic - is sure to be a favorite!

I again thank you for your incredible support of our reading!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pallas

  • Help! We're Reading Through Our Books!

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for your generous support of our classroom and our students! Your donation was the start of our new student-centered classroom library and brought so much joy to our class community!

A classroom favorite was the "Olympians" box set; students loved learning about the gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece - so much so that we later added a unit in the spring where students continued reading more of the "Olympians" series as book clubs and then created their own original myths.

Thank you again for supporting our readers!”

  • Please Help Restock Our Shelves!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thank you for this incredibly generous donation to our classroom! I shared the news with our students and the cheers were so heartwarming to hear! A sign-up list has already been started for the "PS I Love You" and the "Twisted Tale" series; it is so sweet to see how excited these 6th graders are for new books! I am confident that your donation will help to develop life-long readers out of these kids and for that, I am truly grateful. Thank you again for your generous donation and your incredible support!”

At a high needs school in Brooklyn, my students face an unimaginable range of challenges on a daily basis. One thing that is constant in their life is school. Each day, these students come to class and try their best, despite any obstacles they may face. It is hard to get students excited about reading when they are faced with dusty, well-loved, vintage titles. We need contemporary, high interest books that students can relate to.
