  • Always Trying To Get Pads!

    Pads, pads, and more pads!!! We go through them like crazy!!! That little red bucket will be filled up all thanks to you!! For years, I’ve been doing it and I must say the freshmen are so shy when they have to take, but as they get older, I get a “hey Miss Riti” as they grab what they need, and that’s how it should be!

  • Cooler Stands For Our Sports Teams!

    The coolers are great! The handles are easy for the students to carry and we can refill the coolers with ease. It was really great that we could give each team a cooler filled with water so they all will be well hydrated during the game.

    In my eyes, this shows good sportmanship, an award we received in out division this year! We may not be the best, but our actions show what we are all about!

    We plan on using these for baseball and softball because they are easy to carry! The handles made a huge difference.

  • Full Steam Ahead!

    Our project is called Lavender Lane. It is a room we set up to look like a store where students can come in and "shop". This area is open to all of our students. They can come and take whatever they need for themselves and even their families. We now have the iron and steamer to press the clothes and make them look presentable for the people who need them.

    Also, we keep clothes for students who go on job interviews, college interviews, and other functions where they need to dress up. They have used the iron and steamer!

    It was just what our room needed!

  • Which Way Does It Go?

    The possession arrow makes everything so much easier! Our scoreboard now has the possession arrow on it, however, the refs, the coaches, and the players need to have it on the actual scoring table. They find it easier to have it there and of course, it is what they are used to doing. The table should have an arrow. We had one and from what I understand it was twenty years old! It lasted for all those years and all those games!

  • Black Leggings To Get Us Through The Day!

    I can never have enough of the leggings in my classroom. When our students have emergencies or accidents, they know exactly who to come to! Without your continued support, there would be a lot of females in a very bad way. Its so nice to the girls supporting one another when they unexpectedly get their periods. They have a friend who knows I have the necessary supplies to get them through the day!

  • Fun With Homeostasis!?!

    I never thought investigating and experimenting to demonstrate feedback mechanisms in the body relating to temperature would be fun. We had a good time joining forces and collaborating with the science department. We were able to discuss the effects the "Polar Plunge" has on the body and how sauna temperatures effect the body. We also learned how our bodies are finely tuned thermostats that always make sure we are at the correct temperature! As always, you gave us materials we did not have to create a fun and creative learning environment for our students. We are so appreciative for all that you do!”

Being a Health teacher, I have the privilege of meeting and teaching (almost) our entire high school. With that being said, I am able to see all personalities, all intelligence levels, and all maturity levels. All the grades are mixed together, but the majority of my students are sophomores. They each bring something to the class. The city we live in is extremely diverse in population and demographics. My classes clearly show how diverse our city is because it is an evenly distributed mixture of everyone. The topics we discuss allow their personal stories and experiences to come to life. We are able to laugh, cry, empathize, and learn from one another. The school we are in is now in the top three of our city. It has definitely improved academically and the programs offered to our students are endless. We have been just been given a national honor because of all the hard work being done by our students.

About my class
