My students are 24 lively Kindergartners! We have 15 boys and only 9 girls. The students love doing art, dance, and science. They love being out at recess and are fascinated when they find a small bug to observe. We do not have grass on our playground so their exposure to insects is minimal. We have recently got a fish tank and the students love it. The students also love puppets! When I use the minimal puppets I have they act like I have left the room and are intrigued. Our school is a Title 1 school in year 2 of program improvement. Many of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch with families of 4 making less than 40,000 dollars a year. Their families can not afford to purchase school supplies, however, they do the best they can. My students love doing the arts! However, we only receive $200 a year for supplies. Many art projects, drama, and science are left out due to lack of funding. The students would love the materials for a hands on spring unit!
