  • UFLI Phonics Resources and Munipalatives

    Funded Dec 22, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation and support! My students were so excited to use the magnetic letters on the magnetic folders during my lessons! They greatly help them manipulate and understand the phonics lesson being taught each day.

These letters and folders have made a huge difference in my teaching and allows my students to engage in learning kinesthetically.

They use the magnets daily to create digraphs, vowel teams, r controlled vowels, words, spelling, etc. on their work mats. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colley

  • Prizes for Rewards

    Funded Dec 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting my two classrooms! My students were so excited and motivated to work when they saw the box of classroom prizes and stickers! They have been working hard since then as they earn the extra incentives.

Each student earns a star for extra work after they have completed school work. These enrichment activities, projects, and worksheets ensure they are motivated and learning throughout the school day.

My students enjoy the choices with the enrichment activities and work. Again, thank yo for all of your support!”

    Ms. Colley

  • Warm Winter Gloves for my Students

    Funded Nov 12, 2024

Thank you so much for donating warm winter gloves for my 40 students! My students were so excited for being able to use warm gloves at our 30 minute recess. They were also happy and appreciative for the fact that they will always have warm hands.

The students get to freely use the warm winter gloves if they do not have any or forget their own at home. These gloves help keep their hands warm and dry.

Again, thank you so much for supporting my awesome, hard working students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colley

  • Warm Winter Gloves and Snacks for Students

    Funded Nov 16, 2023

Thank you so much for donating warm winter gloves and snacks for my 43 students! My students were so excited for being able to use warm gloves at our 30 minute recess. They were also happy and appreciative for the goldfish and fruit snacks.

The students get to freely use the warm winter gloves if they do not have any or forget their own at home. These gloves help keep their hands warm and dry. The snacks are eaten in the afternoon as my classes have first lunch so are generally hungry each mid afternoon.

Again, thank you so much for supporting my awesome, hard working students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colley

  • Help My Students With Technology That Is Set To Learning

    Funded Apr 10, 2018

Thank you so much for funding our project for an IPEVO document camera. My students can now easily view any documents, books, workbooks that I want to share with them (directions, modeling, demonstrating, etc.) from any angle in the room. The technology allows my students to visibly learn and also share their ideas with the class. My students greatly enjoy that they can now learn from a "big screen." Phonics songs and poems are enjoyed as they read and dance - making their learning fun! Math concepts and manipulative items are now easier to grasp as I visibly demonstrate them - and the students love showing their strategies, too, to the class.

Our powerful pencil sharpener allows my students to move on quickly without them having to hand sharpen them - saving us time for fun educational activities.

Thank you for your kindness in supporting my students in their educational journey!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colley

  • STEM Science Sparklers for Second Grade

    Funded Oct 29, 2013

The iPad mini and leveled science readers that you helped fund for my classroom have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. I have been teaching for fourteen years and I felt I needed something that would provide greater access to special science apps and leveled science readers for my students. The iPad mini and science books have been a treasure for my students! My school is old and does not have many resources for my students, but now I can provide access in my classroom through the iPad mini and have science books that they can read.

I have participated in my workshops where other educators presented science libraries and/or the multitude of opportunities available for second graders who have access to iPad minis and wished I had them for my students. I desperately needed the iPad mini and science books to enhance our science curriculum in our classroom.

When my iPad arrived I quickly set up a science library and also went looking for science apps that would enhance the science curriculum for my students, as well as improve their literacy, i.e. science vocabulary and concepts. Now, thanks to your generosity, our classroom has a special science center and iPad mini with science apps that encourages and stimulates learning. All of my students can now access the science library and apps on the mini iPad for a variety of diverse and leveled science experiences. I know that access to the iPad mini and leveled science readers is helping my students attain greater levels in science and literacy standards.

Thank you so much for helping my students become successful scientists and readers - and for caring and giving to some very deserving public school students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colley

I have been teaching first, secondand third grade for over 24 years, but this year it is very apparent that my students lack the vocabulary of science. I have 43 wonderful students. My school is over thirty years old and although we are designated high poverty we are not Title 1. Over 60% of the children at our school are eligible for free and reduced breakfast and lunch. My students try very hard to learn and they are fascinated by their world. They want to learn about animals and weather. Six of my students are in Indian Education, two in Special Ed, and three in ESL. We cannot afford to go on field trips so everything we do (learn) takes place in the classroom or the playground.
