  • Headphones for Individual Use

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Our school provides chrome books for students to complete interventions, but not head phones. Thank you so much for donating to my project to provide each student with individual head phones to compete online interventions. The students love to hear the directions read especially for them or listen to music. I love that they are not disturbing anyone. Sometimes if students are below level, they are embarrassed to go onto the intervention. Now that they have headphones they can be instructed on their level without feeling embarrassed. Thank you so much for investing in our future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hillery

  • Great Books

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for the beautiful book donations. The three picture books and three chapter books make a beautiful addition to our classroom library. We have been reading about how weather effects people and "The Boy Who Harvested the Wind" was a perfect addition to our unit of study. The other books are great for our social emotion learning.

The students loved the snacks, which were given in the afternoons. The treats are still being enjoyed for an afternoon "pick me up". The face masks are always need these days and the colorful patters make it easier for students to wear the masks all day.

It means a lot to have people who are thinking about our students. We are truly grateful for you and thankful for your generous donations to our project.”

  • New School Year Supplies

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

I am so thankful for your donations which went to start up school supplies for my class. My students use the pencil cases full of supplies daily. The pencil cases keep all of their supplies, colored pencils, crayons, sharpeners, etc. organized during the school day.

Students have extra pencils every day available to them in class. I replenish our pencil cup, so that it is never empty. I have found that supplying the pencils diminishes a lot of stress during the day.

We are using the folders to keep our writing papers organized. Students love the bright green color, I think it encourages them to do their best. The colorful deposable masks and hand sanitizer are keeping students safe while in school. I am able to refill the small bottles of hand sanitizer once they run out.

    Your kindness is appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hillery

  • Beginning School Supplies

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

I am so thankful for your donations. During this time of virtual learning, students still are in need of basic school supplies. Each student will receive 2 cloth masks, pencils, colored pencils, two sharpeners, a pair of scissors, post-it notes, and a pencil case to hold all of their items.

Once we return to class physically they will have the masks ready. We will also use the hand sanitizer wipes daily in class. My district is projected to return to in person in January, but I plan to safely deliver the pencil cases to my students as soon as possible. They are all boxed up and ready to go out. My students are excited to get their hands on their new supplies.

Once again, I am truly thankful for you! Peace and blessings!!”

  • Start-Up School Supplies

    Funded Aug 28, 2019

My students are so excited to have the all of the materials in class. Every student that I teach was able to receive a sturdy folder to keep their math work in at the beginning of the school year. Students have pencils available to them every day, without having to worry about not having their supplies. Students enjoy using the highlighters during math class to highlight key information in word problems. We use Post-It notes daily, after morning meeting to jot down notes, take surveys, or give me ideas about how to improve the classroom environment. We also use the magic markers during math and science classes for projects.

Having a well stocked classroom allows me to have more freedom and be more relaxed, when it comes to daily projects. I do not have to worry about spending my own money to have the supplies that I want in class for my students. Thank you again for considering my project to help fund!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hillery

  • Successful Start for the School Year!

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

We were so excited to have new supplies in our classroom. The notebooks and folders will be used to keep notes and papers organized in the math class. The pencils will be used every day for our classwork in math and science classes. Students will not have to worry about not having school supplies, the pencils will be waiting for them upon arrival to class. The water colored pencils will be used during special projects during the math and science classes. Students can be creative and let their imagination sore with the new school supplies. We are very grateful for you and your donations.”

  • Individual Headphones

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my project to give individual headphones to my students. We have tried earbuds earlier in the year, but they were too flimsy. We also tried a cheaper headphone, the wires did not hold up. The Sony headphones are durable and will allow students to listen to the computer intervention without being disturbed by other noises in the class. Students are on the computer intervention daily. This helps them improve their math skills after being instructed by me. They were so excited when they saw the new headphones and promised to take good care of them.”

  • Learning with an iPad!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

I am so excited to have an iPad to use in my classroom. We will use the iPad as a mobile learning station where children can go online to complete the intervention for math, iReady. Students can get comfortable on the rug or at their desks and complete the assignments.

Students can also use the iPad as a document camera to show their work to their peers. By connecting the iPad to the SMART board the entire class can see the work that students are doing. One of the important aspects of our math program is that students explain their work. This way all students can see what their peers are doing.

Thank you again for your generous donation that will impact the lives of my students!”

  • Good Bye Germs!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

We are so thankful for your generous donation. The hand sanitizer, tissues, wipes, and paper towels are used daily in our classroom. The order arrived right in time for allergy season, which means we were able to keep clean and as germ free as possible.

We use the wipes to keep our desks and other surfaces clean from germs. The paper towels are used to clean up spills, during taste tests for health, and to clean up after ourselves. The world is a better place, with people in it like you!

Please continue to donate to other classes, such as ours.

    Thank you again!”

  • New Year School Supplies

    Funded Dec 28, 2017

My students were so excited when the supplies arrived. I unpacked the boxes and the students cheered! Pencils and erasers are always needed in a second grade classroom. Each child can start each day with a pencil, not having to worry. The new magic markers were a welcomed addition to our supply table. This is a creative group of children who enjoy using various mediums.

We will use the plastic folders to keep our writing well organized. All papers can be neatly stored in the folders and can go back and forth home, without being damaged.

We are all looking forward to the next half of the school year. Thank you again for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hillery

My third grade students are from low income families living in a large city. Many come to school below level and struggle all year to meet the goal of grade level reading by the end of the year. They enjoy learning but have short attention spans. I seek out fun activities which they can complete by themselves or in small groups. They enjoy working in small groups especially with technology.
