I work in a Title 1 school, teaching Special Education. My students are 4th-6th graders, who are all several years below grade level in reading. My classroom is a safe place for them to read books at their level without getting teased and they enjoy doing so. They look forward to silent reading time each day and particularly love nonfiction stories, books about animals, current popular fiction series, and graphic novels.
