By having tables and seating of different shapes and sizes my students will be able to learn in an area that best fits each of their individual needs. While we have more than enough desks for each student, by giving the choice of table tops, couches, or even cushions my students can sit where they want. Which will help them learn to the best of their abilities. Seating choices such as cushions will allow students to comfortably sit on the floor, while yoga mats will allow them to lay down if they want. Lap trays will be useful to those choosing these seating options as writing on the floor is not always the easiest! When my students have the choice to sit where they want, they are more comfortable within the classroom which helps open them up to learning experiences. For most of my students school is the one safe place they have, and I want to continue to do my best to make it the most comfortable as well!
