Coding Into the Future!
Funded Mar 29, 2017It is with much appreciation that I write this letter. With your contribution to purchase the Sphero Robots the art lesson was brought to life. Students thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different artists as well as learning about how to program the robots to paint like Monet and Van Gogh.
Students were able to learn to program a robot and also have fun in art. The technology made learning about the expressionist era of art fun and engaging. We also incorporated taking photographs in the dark with the Spheros and learned how to light paint. Several of the students involved are interested in learning more about robotics and others are interested in learning more about becoming a photographer.
Again, thank you for your donation it is truly appreciated and provided my students with an experience they won't soon forget.”

Funded Mar 18, 2016Thank you for your generous donation of mosaic materials. Students worked hard to create a mathematical patter for their mosaic tile project. They also were able to create a mosaic mural for our library. Students were complete excited when the materials came in and immediately began planning. They spent several class periods measuring and plotting exactly where they were going to put their tiles. Students learned so much from this experience.
Thanks again for your thoughtful and fabulous donation.”

Funded Mar 29, 2016Thank you for your donation. My students have thoroughly enjoyed using the Mosaic Tools to create awesome artwork. Students created a set of coasters, and also a larger tile mosaic for their homes. When the materials came in students were eager to design the best mosaic tile. Eighth grade students will be sharing their new found skills with incoming sixth graders. Students will be displaying their tiles in an art show.
Thanks again for your wonderful donation. The students greatly appreciated your support.”

3D Draw Into the Future
Funded Oct 20, 2015Thank you for your recent donation to my classroom. The students have been enjoying using the 3-D Printing Pens.
We have been learning about how artists use shape and form when creating their masterpieces. This technology allows students imagine a structure like a dream house and then build it in miniature form.
Students were excited to know we were given this opportunity because of your donation. They eagerly drew up their dream house plans and started working. Watching their excitement as they built their dream house replica was amazing. Several students mentioned they are adding these pens to their birthday and Christmas wish lists.
Thanks again for your donation. I couldn't have made such a terrific lesson without your support.”

"Glaze" Into The Future
Funded Dec 19, 2014Thank you for your recent donation of glaze to our classroom. Students have been using the glaze with excitement. The students used the new colors and designed beautiful pieces. Students built, fired, and glazed a variety of mugs, bowls, and animals. Students could not wait to see their work come out of the kiln. They are truly appreciative of your help.
The glazes you purchased helped introduce students to a different type of glaze, and also help me integrate science and art. Each of the glazes has a different chemical composition which gives it a different color. We were able to talk about the color wheel and how those different chemical compositions work together to create the color we see. The Crystalex Glaze also contains little granules of color that add a contrasting hue after they have been fired. We even talked about how the glaze goes through a chemical transformation, going from a mushy, chalky paint to a hard, glossy surface, when heat is applied.
Many students shared their thanks. One student said, "Thank you for all the glazes you bought for us. We appreciate the new colors. Our pottery looks amazing!" Another student shared, "Thank you so much for donating the super cool glaze." One young lady said, "Thank you for the glazes. They really opened up a new window of opportunity."
Thanks again for your help with this purchase. The students and I share the same appreciation for your donation.”
