Thank you so much for funding my class project. My students will be overjoyed when we return from Thanksgiving break!! They are more than ready to bring math lessons into the new millennium. I can't thank chevron enough for funding my project!! We are truly blessed to get funded.”

    With gratitude,

  • Tablets in the Math Classroom

    Funded Nov 20, 2015

The tablets you have provided me for my students has had a huge impact on student learning in my classroom. My students have been able to explore online applets to discover math in a whole new way. I see students who were never interested in math having a new interest in learning math. The textbook my school uses also has online resources. Unfortunately, not all of my students have access to the Internet at home. Now, they are able to access these resources and use them in the classroom. I am able to create new activities that involve using the internet since I have received the tablets in my classroom. Prior to receiving these tablets, this was not possible. Thank you so much for providing my students with the much needed technology in my classroom. Without you, we would not have this.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Leger

  • Taking Math to the Next Level With Tablets

    Funded Oct 11, 2013

My students absolutely LOVE the Microsoft surface tablets. We are constantly go to different math websites to gain access to activities. It is truly amazing to watch the looks on their faces when they have the tablets in their hands and finally make connections to the real world on what we are studying about. Everyday my students come in and ask to use the tablets to access math websites. My students would have never been able to experience this without you. You have truly changed their outlook on how math can be used in the real world. Thank you!!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Leger

I teach of 115 students everyday. My high school is very diverse due to the many programs offered at my school. I teach students with different backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic levels. Within one class, I could have special education students, ESL students (English as a Secondary Language), gifted students, and students struggling financially. The math classes I teach are considered Pre-College Algebra. I am preparing my students to enter college the following year. Many universities and community colleges use online math tools for student learning. I currently do not have the technology in my classroom to prepare my students for online learning.
