Students Love to Be Heard!
Funded Sep 9, 2024On behalf of our Makos thank you for your support with the "Students Love to Be Heard" project, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation. Your support has had a tremendous impact on our students, and we are thrilled to share with you the exciting ways your contribution has enriched their school experience.
Thanks to your donation, we now have the necessary equipment to host both weekly and monthly lunchtime activities that have become a highlight for our students. These events provide them with a much-needed break, fostering a sense of community and belonging. They eagerly look forward to these gatherings, where they can connect with friends, relax, and enjoy fun activities together.
Additionally, the speakers you helped fund have proven invaluable for our movie nights and club events. These evenings have quickly become a beloved tradition, where students come together to watch films, enjoy music, and engage in vibrant discussions. The quality of the sound system has enhanced the atmosphere, allowing students to immerse themselves fully in the experience and making these events something they genuinely look forward to.
Your generosity has directly contributed to the growth of our student community, giving them opportunities to express themselves, build friendships, and create lasting memories. The sense of excitement and joy these activities bring to our students is a true testament to the positive change you've helped create.
Once again, thank you for your incredible support. Your contribution has made a lasting difference in the lives of so many students, and we are deeply grateful for your continued commitment to helping them thrive.”

Bathroom Renovations
Funded Dec 22, 2018The Junior Class Government at MAST Academy is reaching out to thank you for all the donations. The resources donated have helped us substantially with our bathrooms renovations in our school. Before beginning our project, the bathrooms were in need of some adjustments. We have made this project a bonding experience for the children and also an incentive to keep our bathrooms clean. The students have thoroughly enjoyed painting out bathrooms stalls. The murals are marine themed to match our schools main focus on marine and science. The project began partially unorganized and chaotic because the communication between the SGA member and student body was not very good. As time progressed during the project, the students began to bond and get closer through the project. Time went on, and the students became closer and more organized. This special bond that grew through the student body, resulted in multiple beautiful master pieces, created by the students themselves.
When the students first saw all the materials they were incredibly excited and surprised to see and use them. At first not many students knew what it was all for but soon learned. When they all learned, they were even more excited and eager to begin. We had students volunteering throughout the school day during times that they had no work to do, for example, during their lunch periods. We also had a very big after school turnout for students volunteering in painting the mural after school.
As we are only in the beginning stage of fixing our bathrooms, we plan to keep painting them and eventually have a mural in every bathroom at our school. We also plan to get the appliances in the bathrooms replaced and the locks on our bathrooms doors fixed. We will continue to use the materials donated to us this year and for the future years to come. The materials will be used in the art and science classes inn our school. We will also be using specific materials to put quotes in the bathrooms and around the schools to encourage our student body.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Someone Who Cares and 4 other donors.Improving Communication and Creating School Spirit
Funded May 31, 2015The sound system which was acquired through donors choose along with the other supplies used for communication have been well received by our student leaders. Since receiving these items they have scheduled weekly music sessions in the cafeteria during lunch to help improve student moral and spirit. They have also used the equipment for various scheduled school events as vital tool when communicating and engaging the student body. The items are also being used by school administration to help pass along important information to students when they are in large noisy groups. Other students groups within the school are also requesting to check out the equipment to be able to use it for their group sessions. All in all the items have been a success. Thank you!”

SGA Event Supplies
Funded Aug 23, 2015The photo booth was a great addition to our student body, and the feedback received from it was all positive. When the students received these items, they were excited to be able to utilize the photo booth to capture our school events. The students were also very pleased with the quality of the photo booth and the pictures it produced.
My students are using these resources quite efficiently. They are using them to capture many memories at various school events. It has also helped them organize events more fluently. For example, the students used the photo booth products during a school wide BBQ,it was very successful.
This project boosted my students' learning because it has showed them how to save and capture memories at events efficiently, and has shown them how to better organize events and manage their time better. Another way this project helped my students was that it brought them together to focus on one goal. Making them responsible for the acquired items is also helping them become more responsible.”
