  • Popping Our Way to Ten!

    Funded Nov 19, 2021

I want to express my greatest gratitude for your generous donations. My students were so excited when we received the box in the classroom and were even more excited to see the math boards and pop its inside. We have been working on numbers to ten, and now we have a great tool for the students to show their thinking about numbers and begin our work on addition and subtraction skills. The pop it fidget tool will help the students with focusing and staying on task as well as being super fun and engaging.

These materials will be a great asset to my students this year and for future kindergarten students. Thank you so much, your generosity is amazing!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney

  • Ukulele Dreams

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

My students and I are so grateful for your generosity. We have been learning about rhythm, beat, melody, and lyrics as well as the importance of percussion instruments. My students have started playing simple songs together while we are learning online and are so excited to get their instruments out to sing and strum together. We are even starting to write our own lyrics to known songs!

As we continue our distant learning, each student was able to pick up a ukulele from me with a huge smile on their face. When we return to the classroom, my students will be able to use the ukuleles in the classroom as well as check them out to take home to practice or rewrite songs. Their excitement over music, singing, and playing is evident from their laughter when we play together. Thank you again for your extreme generosity! We are so thankful.”

  • Focus Pocus Outside

    Funded Aug 30, 2018

My students were so ecstatic to use our new reading and learning space outside the classroom. When the boxes were delivered to the classroom, they cheered and clapped. The cushions are so comfortable and students love to pull the cushions together or sit on a bench to buddy read. All students wanted to take a turn outside to read when the packages arrived and their smiles were from ear to ear.

At reading time, students can choose to read independently or with a partner. We have a lot of nice sunny days here at our school, so reading outside helps those students who don't feel they are really readers yet. At recess time, a lot of older students are bringing their books or sketching pads and sitting in our outdoor learning area. It is a comforting space now for many students, thank you for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney

  • A Place For Readers to Read!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

I want to thank you again for your amazing generosity in donating to our project. My students were so excited to see the new table, but they went crazy when they saw the cool and fun wobble chairs. Learning to read is challenging when you are five and six years old. When my students come to our new reading table to read and sit on a wobble chair, they are focused and ready to read. We have read funny and silly books, nonfiction books about cats, and books that challenge my students as readers. By donating, you have helped my students, as readers, to be excited and enjoy learning to read.”

  • Art With a Flare

    Funded Oct 16, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped to fund this project. My students love the art supplies. We have some new markers in our art and writing centers plus we have used the watercolor paints to support our learning. We read the story Swimmy by Leo Leonni and after we talked about the message, we painted a scene from the book using watercolor and crayons. My students loved painting and were so proud of their masterpieces.

We will continue to utilize the art supplies we received through your generous donations in all subject areas. We will paint pictures of animals, ourselves, celebrations, and more. My students have a love for the arts and you have helped to flourish their love and make it stronger.”

  • With Technology We Can.....Build a Future With Life-Long Learners.

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

I want to thank you again for your generous donations. My students were ecstatic to get a package in the mail and when they saw what was inside, they exploded with excitement. Technology is something that we use all of the time, but don't always realize it until it is not there. Support from technology in literacy helps my kindergarten students stay motivated to learn and gets them excited about words. These iPads are giving my students access to books and literature that we do not have in the classroom.

My students are so excited to start using the iPads during literacy center time. They want to use the different apps around literature and read books using QR Codes. It is amazing to see how they can adapt to using technology and then use those same skills to read other books in the classroom.

All of the students in my class cannot wait to get their hands on new learning materials. They are eager to try new things, talk about what they are learning, and then try on something else that is new. The technology will help my students to continue to grow and develop into life long learners and readers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney

  • Hands-On Science Fun For Kindergarten

    Funded Nov 8, 2016

My students and I have already started using these new resources. These hands-on Science stations have help me organize, plan, and write lessons for a new Science unit on motion for the Next Generation Science Standards. My student will be learning about how things move and why they move fast or slow. They will learn how to manipulate devices to slow down something that is moving or speed it up using the scientific method. My students are eager to use the new materials every day and literally jumped for joy when they saw what was in the package when it arrived.

My students love hands-on materials in all subjects areas. The Science materials are wonderful for that reason. Another way that my students like to learn is through technology. I have another donors choose project posted to get two tablets for the students to use in all subject areas like reading, math, and science. My students are special and wonderful and deserve to have the very best materials to help foster their learning. I want to thank all of you for making that happen for us this time and for all other times in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney

  • Kindergarten Readers Need To Read, Read, Read

    Funded Sep 29, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students are using their wonderful chair pockets to hold their favorite just-right books along with their math materials. Each student has their name on the chair pocket which makes them feel so special. Every day, all of the students in my class are choosing to read books when they are finished with other work as well as the designated times for reading.

My students were so excited to get the package in the mail. When we opened the box and I passed them out to each student, they eagerly put the seat sack at the place where they wanted to sit. We are all so grateful. We love the new seat sacks!!!

To add to our learning, I have a new donors choose project to fund more hands on science materials for our classroom and for the budding scientists in our room. I want you to know how important your donations are. You have truly helped my students and we all thank you for that.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney

  • Technology That's Totally Tubular!

    Funded Sep 22, 2015

I am writing this thank you letter to let you all know what your generous donation has meant to me and to my students. I'm sure that all of you use technology at home, but you may not be aware of how much technology is really used in schools. The students in my classroom love to learn with the aid of technology. They love fun and interesting games that spark their creativity. I know technology helps students learn when I see them apply new skills that they have learned in other areas of the day.

The new Leap Pads, headphones, and games that were purchased were very exciting to all of the students in my class. When we opened the box together, their smiles where huge and bright with excitement. All of the students have already had many chances to use the new technology in the classroom during our Literacy Center time as well as other times in the day.

Most importantly, the Leap Pads are easy to navigate for even my most needy students. These students have felt successful and independent when using the new technology. I want to thank you again for your generous donation, your passion for education, and for making my students smile.”

    With gratitude,

  • Trikes! Trikes! Trikes!

    Funded Oct 9, 2012

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The tricycles that you donated have helped my students every single day. The students have improved their gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination, as well as building social skills. The tricycles are used by my students, as well as the preschool students and students in the other three kindergarten classrooms.

Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would never have had these vital resources. For kindergarten students, these tricycles are essential to their development.

Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms in the United States would go without.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sweeney
