Our curriculum will be far more engaging with new ideas and creative activities inspired by and made by other teachers on Teachers Pay Teachers. We have so many different kinds of learners, and each kind needs different kinds of engagement strategies in order to have the best chance at learning. Without new materials to enhance the work we are mandated by district is really helpful and the kids are far more engaged with the fun activities and lessons from Teachers Pay Teachers.”

• Making Technology Mobile for Easier Access to Learning

  Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom! We are so excited to finally mount the touchscreen to the rolling cart you have donated for. The hope is that we will reach more students and engage them with tech in a creative and fun way.

  The idea my grade level team and I have is to take the touchscreen from room to room and to make it mobile. I am very excited to see this in action, and to check out all of the different apps and sites that we can use with our new screen.

• Engaging Kinders With Interactive Touchscreen!

  Thank you so much for your donations! My students and I are very excited to try our new technology in the classroom, and are trying to find new ways to use our touchscreen during rug time. The screen is amazing, and they have been mesmerized by how big it actually is. (We did not know it was going to be so big!)

  Technology in the classroom has always been somewhat of a challenge, mostly due to the lack of resources allocated to Kindergarten tech equipment. There generally isn't enough funding for a touchscreen, so this kind of donation is such an amazing gift. We are so thankful for you and your help!”

  Thank you so much for the chance to explore all of the ways other teachers create materials and develop new ways of engaging Kindergarteners! I find that collaboration is such an important tool for teachers to be more interested in improving as educators. When I use the TPT gift cards to purchase lessons and resources from other teachers all over the country, I hope to discover ideas for the classroom that will enhance district curriculum. There is so much to learn from each other, and I am always excited to find out what others find helpful or inspiring for their teaching.”

• Honoring Diversity and Inclusion in Kindergarten!

  Thank you so much for helping me fill my classroom library with diverse books that more accurately reflect the real world and the diversity in our city. I am always looking for ways to infuse equity and inclusion into my lesson planning and I find that interactive read alouds are effective in engaging the Kindergarteners. When you open up books, you also open opportunities to have deeper and more meaningful discussions about the stories and emotions and experiences. Our students who are in need of more representation in the classroom now have more selections of books to read during their quiet reading time.”

• Teacher Created, Teacher Made Materials to Engage Young Learners!

  Thank you so much for the resources at TpT! I love using the ideas and resources created by other teachers who have had success with those materials already. Many of the things I purchase off the site are used every year, and encourage me to make lessons more accessible, engaging and fun.

  This year I have tried to find science materials that will enhance the district curriculum and luckily found some great lessons on TpT to help me brainstorm. The kids loved the science lessons on trees and plants, and even planted their own sunflower seeds. It was a big hit!

  These resources need to be as diverse and unique as the students in my classroom, and with TpT I can better plan and organize their academic year.”

• Online Kindergarten Inspiration!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class. We are in the midst of a very uncertain time, and finding ways to reach the kids virtually is a challenge that is made much easier with the appropriate tools and resources. I am so grateful for the help.

  I have been struggling to find ways to transform my on-site classroom to online learning, but have found that going virtual will require a different mindset. I am now doing my best to work through the online options and opportunities that will help reach our youngest learners over a Zoom class.

  I am always so thankful for any generosity, and I feel so grateful for my community, especially during times like these. Thank you for understanding how education and public schools are the foundation of all learning.”

• Kindergartners Learn How to Read From a Distance!

  This year has been the most unusual of my career. I can't tell you how heavily I have relied on community and peers to help me through these difficult transitions from on-site teaching to online. It has been transformative in the most intense way, and I have found it challenging to find those moments of gratitude that I took for granted for so many years of teaching. It has been a trial by fire kind of trimester.

  Your donations, and Donors Choose, has always provided me with a mixture of big emotions ranging from elation to relief. I feel so thankful for your help, but am always going to wait for the day when our public schools are funded like our future depends on it. Until then, I will continue to thank you so much for all of your help and your consistent giving to our public school system. I feel supported as a teacher and as a professional when a project is successfully funded. You have helped me find my moment of thankfulness for this year.”

• A Document Camera for Closing the Distance

  Funded May 23, 2020

  Thank you so much for the amazing document camera! I was suspecting that we would not be returning for the new school year, and knew this would be a hard transition for the students (and me.) Not having the equipment needed, or not having access to what we may need to properly instruct was very worrisome.

  With the Elmo, I won't have to rig up my ipad anymore! It has saved me from buying yet another supply for school, and I am so thankful for your support and for Donors Choose for creating the opportunity to connect with people who truly care about teachers and public education.”

• A Working Camera for Kindergarten!

  Thank you so much for your contribution to my proposal! I have always tried to document my kindergartners in their daily routine so I could have them available for the families in our class. When people feel more connected to their child's school, community is built and investments in the school are made. Photographs are an amazing way to give a window for parents so they can have a glimpse of what their children are doing during the time they are not with them.

  Our kids are fabulously photogenic and I am loving testing out this new camera. I have been doing research online about how to make the most of this wonderful gift, and will be excited to show them once I have my photography skills down.
