  • Let's Play Ball

    Funded Nov 1, 2023

Thank you soooo much for your contributions. We have reached our goal and all of our "ball" materials will be arriving at our school in a couple of weeks. The students will explore, investigate, and engage in literacy-based activities. Providing these various materials will build a strong foundation for literacy, math, and the love of school. I can't wait to share our photos with you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

  • Readers Are Leaders!

    Funded Sep 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations! I can't wait to create a rich literacy space in my classroom for all students. Your contributions to the various literacy materials will support my student's love for books and pre-reading skills. My Pre-K students are going to enjoy all of the reading-related materials. Once again, thank you for supporting our future Readers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

  • Light It Up!

    Funded Feb 16, 2021

The resources received provided various creative and learning opportunities for my students. During our light unit, students had the opportunity to understand the importance of "light". They were able to manipulate colors and create various shapes and patterns. Sensory pieces also provided support for my students with special needs.

When the materials arrived my students were excited and could not wait to use them. There was a long waitlist every time we open up the light table. My students became very familiar with setting up the materials and even switching on and off the light table.

The next steps: support my student's fine motor skills, and increase their number concept by playing matching dominos and letter recognition.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

  • Full STEM Ahead

    Funded Aug 26, 2021

On the behalf of my students and me, we are excited and grateful for your support. Your generous donations will spark my young students' love for learning. I can't wait for my students to return to school and engage with all of these STEM materials. Looking forward to sharing pictures of their creations with you all.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

  • Mathematicians at Work

    Funded Dec 27, 2020

My students continuously engage with the math resources that we received. I recently taught my students about patterns and the nuts and bolts were perfect for hands-on exploration.

When the packages arrived my students were eager to see what was in the box. As I opened each box and reviled what was inside, they quickly selected a manipulative and began to explore. Math became a center that most of my students selected.

The next steps are to continue to engage my students in more math concepts and continue to spark the love for MATH!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

  • Art in the Classroom

    Funded May 6, 2014

When the art materials arrived at our school the children were very excited. We unpacked all of the art materials and stored them in our art center. Several of my students wanted to try use the play dough to create a mailbox. A few of my students asked if they could borrow a piece to take home to share with a sibling. The dot paint was a big hit, we used it to write sight words and create pieces related to topic of study.

Our favorite unit of study was the community. The children created beautiful pieces utilizing the art materials provided by all of you Students were able to to express their ideas, experiment, be creative and LEARN.

Art is a powerful means for learning when interwoven with lessons. My students made connections, generate questions and made predictions that supported their reading and writing. Art in the classroom made it possible for me to reach all learners. It provided a great bridge for my students to make connections and process new information.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Judy

My students are bright and creative. I often hear "I can't color at home because we have no crayons at home" when completing a homework assignment. We do several hands-on projects to make connections in learning, and crayons or play dough are key ingredients towards learning. The school is located in a low income project area.
