Progress You Can See: Swimming Team in Need of a Camcorder
Funded Dec 14, 2008I opened my e-mail today to find the most exciting news! Your donation has made it possible to make a dream of mine come true. For about two years I have wanted to record swimmers of mine so that they can see how they are doing. I also have wanted to create DVDs that would show the beginning and ending of each season until they graduate. Then at the awards banquet at the end of the year, I can put together a slide for our seniors to show how much they have improved from the beginning to the end of their swimming career with our team. They will also be able to keep their DVD with the progress they have made. I cannot tell you how much it means to me that this project has been funded. I know that swimmers, divers, and parents will be just as thrilled as I am when I can tell them of this news. Thank you so much for making a dream of mine come true and for allowing our swimmers and divers to really see how far they have come”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and 5 other donors.Next Generation of Mathematicians
Funded Aug 2, 2008Thank you so much for your generous donation. Having calculators for students, after they understand the process of basic calculations, is important. It allows us to delve deeper into topics in mathematics without having to take huge amounts of time to make calculations with larger numbers. Also, we have dry-erase boards for each student, so it is important to be able to provide the students with dry-erase markers to participate in class activities. Students get excited about doing math when they get to hold their own dry-erase board and marker. It is so much fun to watch them become enthusiastic in a subject that so many struggle with. Your donation will help in so many ways.
Thank you again. We are so grateful for your thoughtful act towards our middle school.
