  • Headphones for Grade 1!

    Funded Oct 31, 2024

Thank you for your donation to my project. This project has provided all students in Grade One a working pair of headphones to use in the classroom during computer time.

I was able to provide each of the 4 First Grade classrooms with a set of headphones. I also gave our Librarian Technology teacher a box to distribute and use in his classes.

The students were so excited to be able to pick their own color and keep the headphones for their own personal use.

There are still headphones remaining for the rest of the school year. If any children lose or damage theirs, they will be able to get a new pair.

The noise cancelling headphones have also assisted in allowing students the ability to block out extra noises to better aid in their concentration and work production.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Biron

The paper will greatly improve projects in our pk-3 classrooms. The bulletin board paper will help teachers create visual displays throughout of building.”

  • Instructional Material Organizers

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

I have spent the last month organizing and labeling my phonics and math units. These crates and folders have allowed me to better organize my instructional materials and supplement worksheets for lessons.

Due to the better organization of these materials, I am saving time searching and planning for instruction. I am spending more time in my small groups and provide my students with work that is on target with the standards being addressed in the given lesson.

I have shared my resourced with my fellow colleagues. They are able to come into my room and can easily find any phonics skill worksheet or lesson for their groups.”

  • Good Morning! Sensory Bins

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

The sensory bins are a big hit. I introduced them to my class this week and they are all excited and eager to use them.

The past couple mornings, students have come into class and eased into the day with a bit of creative play. They are sharing, discussing ideas, and problem solving on their own.

I have had several teachers observe the class using the bins and they are interested in making their own for their class. I have also been able to share some materials with fellow first grade teacher to help with some of their struggling students.

Thank you so much for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

  • Phonics Based Literacy Materials

    Funded May 9, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my project. Over the past several weeks, I have been planning and creating lessons for the upcoming school year.

I have organized my new materials and can't wait to implement them into my teaching. The decodable passages will be used daily to reinforce phonics skills. I will be providing each student with their own alkonin box to help reinforce independance when decoding new words.

My literacy library is growing and I look forward to seeing the growth my students make this school year.”

  • Classroom Organization

    Funded May 9, 2024

Over the past two weeks, I have been busy organizing and creating materials for my classroom.

I cleaned out an old broken file cabinet and replaced it with the new cabinet and hanging folders. This makes my files more accessible to me and my lessons. I have also been very busy laminating words and pictures to use in my phonics instructions. I was able to then organize these laminated words by skill for better accessibility. The three-drawer organizing systems have found a home in my classroom. These will be used to organize papers for writing instruction and independent write time.

I thank you from the bottom of my heard for your generosity. These materials are greatly appreciated and will help me better serve my community.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Biron

  • Home School Connection Center

    Funded Aug 17, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. I have assembled and set up the mailboxes in the back of my room. The students were so excited to have the old and worn system replaced with a more efficient and new system. They are taking great pride in their work and placing in in their designated space. At the end of the day, students are able to quickly locate their name and collect all their work to bring home and share with their families.

The folders are being used in the classroom to organize classroom work. When papers are not complete they can place the work in the folder and take out at another time to complete.

There organizing systems help my students organize their work so that they can share what they are doin gin class with their families at home.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Biron

  • Organizing Literacy Skills

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation and funding for my project. Over the summer, I was able to organize materials and set up my classroom for the 2023-2024 school year.

I was able to use the binders and plastic sleeves to create units for my small reading group. This will keep material well organized and help aid in my instruction.

The magnetic organizers and shelves are a great addition to the classroom. I can use them to hold materials and leveled readers. As the year goes on and routines are in place, the students will be able to quickly obtain reading materials at their level.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Literacy Centers

    Funded Jul 2, 2022

Thank you so much for all your generosity. This year, I have been trying to create more phonics centers and hands on interactive experiences. So far, the students are showing more engagement and are excited to use the new materials. The magnetic word wall with high frequency words is helpful during small group and writing times.

The magnetic wands and buttons are a great addition to my small group instruction. We have been using them to assist with the Alkonin boxes. We have also used the decodable readers during reading time and phonics instruction. The labels were used to identify mailboxes and for personal id's the first week of school.

Thank you again for your support. I am very excited for this school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Biron

  • STEM Building Buckets for Creative Learning Experiences

    Funded Jan 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. The material I received have been used almost on a daily basis. The the boxes first arrived, the kids were so excited. When they were first able to explore with them their faces lit up and the joy beamed all over my classroom.

I have used the materials for indoor recess time, quiet time, sensory breaks, and most recently a fun STEM building project. This project began with a story Memoirs of a Parrot ang ended with groups working together to design and build a cage that the parrot would enjoy. I look forward to many more activities in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Biron

My current classroom lacks space and a mobile library. Currently, books in my classroom get lost or ruined as they fall on the floor or shoved into desks. This organizational tool will allow my students to keep their leveled readers organized and accessible to them throughout the day. I have implemented some flexible seating into my classroom so desks are not always the best option for keeping books and materials. My students also transition to other teachers for several interventions and lessons throughout the day. Having their leveled readers organized and easily accessible will be helpful to them as well as their other teachers
