We are a classroom of 25 first grade students who live and learn in Utah. We love reading books and we are so excited to learn, discover and explore all the places that books can take us. Many of my students are just learning to read. Due to Covid they are behind and have many gaps in their learning. They work hard but need the resources to help them catch up so they can be on grade level and reach their potential. They require a lot of hands on manipulatives and decodable texts to help them solidify the phonics skills they are learning. We are setting goals to become accurate and fluent readers. Already I have seen great growth and progress and hope to provide them with more opportunities to achieve and become independent readers.
