Logically Helpful
Funded Nov 23, 2023My students and I wish to thank you for your most generous donation to our classroom. We are so thankful to be receiving these Smart Games materials which will provide us with a fun, hands-on way to practice thinking logically. Learning to methodically use logic will greatly impact our skills positively for the future. Thanks!”

We Are Temporarily Camping Out
Funded Oct 8, 2013I am writing to thank you again for the IPAD and case you provided for my students. The children are delighted with their new IPAD and I am delighted that I have seen such progress with their literacy, math and science skills.
As an example of the impact that I have seen one of my students, Z, could not identify and name any of the upper or lower case letters. During the construction unit I did in my classroom to correlate with the opening of our new school I downloaded an app that quizzes children on upper and lower case letters. When the child correctly identifies five letters the app allows them to choose a piece of construction equipment to clear away the letters. Z adores trucks and building equipment, so he asks very frequently if he may use the IPAD with the construction app. This week I assessed the children again and Z identified eleven upper case and seven lower case letters.
I have in my class one child, M, who has already surpassed all of the PreK state standards. I was able to download apps for sight words and early readers to further her literacy skills. The ability that I now have with the IPAD to differentiate my instruction for the children is phenomenal.
We, as a class, raised five monarch butterflies and with the use of our new IPAD we were able to track the monarch migration to Mexico. Naturally, watching the flight patterns and final destination footage of the monarchs has delighted the children and increased their understanding of migration.
On January 8th we moved into our new school and with the wireless bluetooth capability I plan to use the IPAD this week to show the children the works of Mondrian, the artist. We will also use the camera function on the IPAD to record photos for our graphing of states of matter of water.
I would like to thank you again for your generosity and hope you can see what a precious resource you have provided for our children.”
With gratitude,
