  • Read Along With Me and Oral Fluency You Will See.

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you so much for your donating to our project. Students have used our listening station to build their oral reading fluency, comprehension and love of reading. In our classroom. students have independent reading time everyday. Each day students are eager to use the listening station that was purchased with this grant. They really enjoy listening and following along. Some of their favorites are classics like Goodnight Moon and The Gingerbread Man. Students are also allowed to take home a book each night to promote a love of reading. They love to take home books from the listening station. Through the books in our listening station, we have focused on different reading strategies like predicting, questioning, and connecting . Thank you again for helping my students become life long readers.”

  • Take A Look At Me In My Book!

    Funded Dec 10, 2020

Thank you so much for funding my students with this project. My kiddos were beyond excited when they received their writing tools that helped turn them into authors. Students have worked on personal narratives, and they were able to turn their stories into books with the mini paper books they received. Almost all students are still learning virtually, so they were able to present and read their books on screen to one another. They felt a huge sense of accomplishment. Included, were people crayons, so they were also able to illustrate their written pieces with colors that represented them. They absolutely loved the crayons! This definitely motivated them to write more and share their stories. We are forever grateful for all the help in the funding of this project. Thank you again. My goal is to continue to encourage students to write and share their stories. We will surely need more supplies in the future. Thank you for all of your help. Best-”

  • Basic Supplies to Keep Learning Alive

    Funded May 21, 2020

A genuine thank you to the donors that contributed to make this project possible. Since the pandemic hit, my students have been fully remote with learning. Many left the classroom without basic supplies to keep learning engaging and fun at home. Through your donation, students were able to create self made books, color their illustrations, cut out pictures, and get some movement in them by jumping rope. These supplies surely made their learning from home more fun and engaging.

I was able to drive to each student's home , socially distanced and masked to give them their learning gift bags. The smiles on their faces when they came out were priceless! They were so unbelievably happy and grateful. They thanked me and couldn't wait to use their supplies.

Seeing that we are continuing to learn remotely, my next goal will be to work on getting books to my students. I would love for them to build their own libraries at home. Getting actual books, and not reading solely from websites is crucial to their learning and for building a love of reading. Thank you again for your support.”

I am asking for basic supplies for my students because many of them do not have them at home. When we meet virtually, and or by phone, many of my students share that they don't have crayons/markers to color pictures that are responses to stories they have read or pictures they simply want to draw to share with me and one another. The pencils and sharpeners will allow them to replenish the few they have at home. I would love for them to have jump ropes so they can have fun and stay active.
